The Prodigal Daughter Returns…
Well, I confess I went over to the other side (forums), but I can’t cope, it’s too heavy this early in the day. So I’m back and I’m afraid you’re stuck with me. I’ll TRY not to be so fickle again.Looks like today has turned into a bit of a damp squib and all my careful planning has gone awry. Wanted to go to the beach but it’s overcast and was raining earlier, so that’s out. Ditto a bar-b-q because they’ve taken off. ¡¡Turncoats!! It’s my friend’s birthday and tonight, the idea was to hit as many salsa bars as poss. and really let our hair down for a change. I called my friend this morning and she’s not up to it. I wonder if they’re all trying to tell me something? People are just so unreliable. Anyone else out there for salsa?
In any case, all this is irrelevant because I had a rotten night, coughing and spluttering, blocked nose and headache. I just can’t seem to shake this cold that I got nearly two weeks ago. It doesn’t help that the weather is so up and down and there’s a biting wind which brought it on in the first place. And WORSE, it’s colder in the apartment than it is out! Never believe the programs that tell you Spain has the same hot temperature 365 days a year. ¡Quatsch!
To add to that, I woke up with someone else’s lips! Not as exciting as it sounds. I must have eaten something last night that didn’t agree with me and that’s how it manifests itself. Bloody sore and uncomfortable and I had to drink hot coffee through a straw. Beats me why someone would pay good money to have collagen if this is what it feels like, a pair of oversize flippers on your face.
I called my best friend in Brighton looking for some sympathy and her husband answered the phone. He cut me off after a few minutes saying he doesn’t speak to liars! Can you believe that? Cheek of it!
I’m going to take it easy today. Looks like I’ve run out of alternatives and have to fall back on Contingency Plan B: back to bed with the emergency rations – a good book, an assortment of chocs, vodka (for medicinal purposes), chin-chin (don’t ask) and ice cream.
OK. I’M GOING IN…
Cheers everyone. Have a good weekend!

Me, personally, I hate when someone says they are going to be somewhere and never show up, or get there late, or just cancel on me, especially when I look forward to it.
BriteSpark, sounds like you have allergies and not a cold, and the forums are a little hard to deal with, they go from funny to mean at the drop of a single word.
A really good down to earth blog. Hope better days come along. You had a lot to put with all in one day. People can be very disappointing. I'd be round like a shot for that salsa but alas I'm thousands of miles away. May better things come your way.
Shame about your being so far away, but if you're ever in my neck of the woods... I’m definitely up for salsa.
Feeling better already!
