You leave the loveliest comments on my poems and now this. I don't quite know why you're watching out for me... but I appreciate it.
"Grazie mille per aver letto, il mio amico"
il letto = (noun) the bed
avere = to have (aux. verb)
leggere= to read
letto= past participle form of "leggere"
So.... "aver letto" is ok for "to have read"
My original comment should translates something like:
"Thanks a lot for having read, my friend"
more simply "Thanks a lot for reading, my friend"
[Anyone who knows Italian grammar, please feel free
to further correct this is I messed something up!!]
Just posted a new one... more structured sort. See what you think!
And now I feel so drained... and just down... you know, because my friend feels such disappointment. I even posted a rare depressing poem just now.
Then I promised myself to snap out of it upon falling asleep tonight.
Let me know how it strikes you:)
I posted a new poem moments ago.
Poetry feeds me.
Hamlet
"...there's a special providence in
the fall of a sparrow.
If it be now, 'tis not to come',
if it be not to come, it will be now;
if it be not now, yet it will come:
the readiness is all.
Since no man knows aught of what he leaves,
what is't to leave betimes? Let be."
