Eastern vs. Western Medicine

I just left an acupuncture session, and I feel great! Which really got me to thinking...where has western medicine gone wrong? Why is it that I usually always feel worse once I leave a doctors office, in which they practice western medicine? Is it because it took me three weeks to get that appointment, or because the doctor was 1.5 hours late, or because I felt like I was just one of many being shuffled through the system? Or, could it be that the doctor never really took a true interest in my ailment, that he/she just wanted to pump me full of drugs, and/or send me on a wild goose chase to pharmacy after pharmacy, waiting in more lines?

I have been having acupuncture done for years. For a long time, my insurance wouldnt even cover it, because its not 'recognized' by many insurance agencies as a valid treatment plan. But, I assure you it is. Moreso even than 99% of the crap they do insure. My mother was told by western doctors that she should have two knee replacements, and that she should walk with a cane. Hell no, she said! She consistently goes to acupuncture, and she is fine. No cane, no pain. Did you know that open heart surgeries have been performed using only acupuncture needles, and no pain medicine or anisthetics? There are specific points in the body interconnected with others, so this doesnt seem so far fetched to me.

Same thing with many fertility clinics. What a waste of time and money. Go get some acupuncture. Doesnt it make sense to cure the energy flowing in our bodies, rather than putting more chemicals in?

Well, to each their own, but I would say to those that feel they have hit a dead end with a treatment in western medicine, to please find a reputable acupuncturist and just at least give it a try. I was in and out within 40 minutes, and I feel great.....cheers

I might try that someday...I've always wanted to. I'm sceptical but that doesn't always stop me.
skeptical in what manner? Well, as you know mike, before I buy into anything I do alot of research. This I have read many books and articles on. The chinese were definetely onto something, trust me. beer
Eastern medicine? Is that where you can order your doctor's prescription online in Asia and save money?
sory wr0ng type,
Eastern chinese- n0t western chinese!

@mike
Most asian or eastern medicine were derived fr0m the studies of ancient health care,
And m0stly, it composed by organic or natural chemicals..
Coz producer always think of having long natural living...
Yes, Dead... the woman I go to is originally from China...and has been practicing for over 25 years.

Shell- I have not heard about the paralyzing thing, but I believe it......I have instant relief when she puts a needle in the spot for sinuses....you can even press that spot and use acupressure to feel it on your own. Its the meaty spot in the webbing between your thumb and forefinger...beer
mike I was generalizing but I meant eastern in the sense of from the East, and western, from the west. uh oh
Dear Drea..10k has been asking me to stick up to him for many weeks now, can you suggest what should be the right spot to cure his urges. I am new to all of this and I need your help.
I would venture to say that part of the reason you felt better after acupuncture more than after a conventional doctor appointment is that acupuncture treats the reason for the symptoms rather than just allopathically. The reason people are in dis-ease, in whatever form it takes, is because the body is out of homeostasis due to stress or other imbalances.

Everything begins as a thought. A person attaches a story to the thought. The story creates emotion, usually stressful, and the emotion gets suppressed and buried. It has to release somewhere so it goes into the body. It is hard to believe with all the information out there people still think the mind and body are separate. Everything is connected and treating symptoms is just treating the final manifestation of a thought pattern, which is why so much of allopathic medicine is ineffective and symptoms recur.

Acupuncture works with the energy system of the body. It is much subtler and catches the imbalances before they fully manifest into physical problems. Working with energy is effective because it is more direct in its healing effects, it goes after the emotional attachment (energy frequency) to the thought that creates discomfort in the body. Physical ailments are nothing more than you trying to get your attention!

Also, acupuncture, massage, crystal and aroma therapy and healing with herbs have been around at least 5000 years. If it didn't work it would have been long gone.
rolling on the floor laughing I'm not sure if that was a Houston moment or not.
Well miss V. I don't know about all that. It sounds interesting, but, I must have missed that science lesson in biology.confused

But I will give you, if it works for you and some others, I can't argue those facts. I guess if one thing worked for everyone all the time, there would be no debate.
Drea, can acupuncture work for impotence? If yes, where the needle goes? Can you ask your Chinese doctor if she is not too shy to answer?
@ drea,
Yeah it can paralized, there is particular vein at d back of our neck that was c0nected to our central nervous system to temporary paralize the pers0n, i think s0me m0dern d0ctor also use to inject aneastesia in that part in s0me operati0n...

@ ms. V.

I'm not sure if it's more impressed or scared.wow
You do know I'm joking Shelly.hug
CT, I am not 100% sure but Id be willing to wager shell is correct. Also, I have no doubt that if you and fieldr were sent to exile on a deserted island, we know who would be eaten first and what part you would start with.
Note to self.

If Shelly ever comes over to my house, hide all needles.typing
rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing And if Fielder comes over, hide the DVD player.

Does he have a blond wig?
He’s bald Mike, you can put any color wig on his head.
We'll see. Have him send me some picture with the wig on. Then we'll talk.
Would those be pictures with or without the grandma's curtains in the background?
rolling on the floor laughing poor 10k. I hope he's having sweet dreams.
hijack 10k, this does seem like it is way off the subject of acupuncture...

How are you? wave
Where have u been all night my love? In your absence I bartered you for Mike’s arm pit hair. I hope you will stay happy with him yay
Wait a minute, I just said we'd talk. I never did any trading. Besides, I don't want to be responsible for breaking up such a cute happy couple.

Hey 10k. See what happens when your not here to defend yourself.cheers

Hi Em! hug

I do not know much about the herbs that can go along with treatment programs, but I definetely have an energy imbalance hehe...or at least I can feel it. I remember she told me about a year ago there was definetely blockage somewhere because when she took the needle out of my earlobe it bled a little bit, and usually doesnt, or never did before.

I will ask her about 'angelica' next weekend.
