top ten faves (Joy Joy)

What makes me happy, truly happy. They're not hard things either. They're things that are everyday surrounding us but in the day and age of cell phones, computers, pagers, faxes, cars, meetings, kids sports, fast food, and long hours at work, the simple things are lost.
Here are mine.

Occasionally these'll get clouded by irritability, other people's actions, too much work, worry and bad habits.

The other day, my downstairs neighbors who have 4 kids who are in age like stairsteps 5,4,2,and 1.... they're all cute but one day they were outside and my neighbors who are latino and speak no english, let me hold the baby. He's a smiley chubby boy with long fine black hair and cute pumpkin grin. he was dressed in little footie pajamas and when I held him up he giggled such a laugh it was so contagious. we ALL started laughing and I held him close and hugged him. He kicked his little footed pj's a few times and was really giggly.

I've had 4 kids of my own and countless foster kids so this thing really cured all of my negativity for the day.

1. a baby's laugh
2. a good piece of cake
3. a thunderstorm
4. sitting by the ocean
5. a really good movie that makes me laugh all the way through
6. clean sheets and blankets on the bed
7. the sound of your young child singing
8. a deep, long lasting, wondrous kiss from your mate
9. cashing your paycheck
10. a hug from both your kids at once.

I know, silly huh, but I like all these simple, really simple things.

Not silly. If the simple things can't make us happy, then most of us are in deep trouble. Most of those things you listed are wonderful things...things that a lot of people take for granted.

Thanks for your list....makes me think about what is really important.
