EL: His Old Flames
One of his old flames will get married on the coming National Day, but the bridegroom is not him. :)How many old flames has he had? Lol 4 or 5. I like them too. Pretty girls.
So he gave his sincere congratulation to the bride-to-be. Actually he gives his best wishes to all his old flames.
At those times he was crazy about his fourth old flame, but that girl has already had a boyfriend. Later that girl refused him (She is the only one who refuses him. Others, it is he who said good-bye to them first:). Many friends said that if he hadn’t given up so earlier, he would have won, after all, he is much better than her boyfriend.
I encouraged him several times to compete with her boyfriend, but he didn’t. Once I thought he was a coward with no courage, but later what he said changed my mind:
“She chooses him, so I do not want to disturb her. I hope she is happy. If I always give her troubles, always ring her, always send her messages, her life will be in a mess and she won’t be happy.”
From then on I know he is not a coward. He just loves her in another way.
And then I understood why I encouraged him to compete with her boyfriend. That is the same: I also hoped he could be happy.
The opposite side of love is not hatred, but indifference. However, I guess, it is not hatred or indifference that makes us choose to leave silently. It is love.

When you say “after all, he is much better than her boyfriend”, in which ways? He’s better looking, he earns more money, he comes from a better family, he’s more witty? What do you mean? Im really not sure how someone can use the expression “better than”.
But anyway your friend realizes (too late) that he’s missed the love of his life and still he does nothing. He doesn’t even give the love of his life the chance to change her mind. What a hero………….I think from your story I would conclude that the opposite side of love is stupidity !

Of course, some people’s standards might be a little against the “general standards”, such as… perhaps according to the “general standards”, you are “better than” him. “rich”, “business owner”, “Germany”, “get most of things” (said in your profile ha ha). But in my eyes, he is better.
But that doesn’t mean that you are worse… just personal view. I am sure in many young ladies’ eyes, you are “better”.
3) change her mind… So what should he do? Ring her all the time, follow her all the time, ask her to come back all the time when she decides to choose her boyfriend?
The boy I am concerning with has a gf now. He is quite happy. So what can I do when he is so happy with his gf? Send him lots of mails, ring him all the times, beg him to love me, go to his home and never leave, or even threaten to kill myself if he does not love me? Oh come on. That will only make him unhappy, angry, or dislike me.
I guess, this can be attributed to our old topic: think for yourself and think for others.
4) stupidity.. I guess everybody knows that love makes people stupid, unless they have never loved in their life.
