What a great day !
I am a real estate agent and a photographer. This morning I was supposed to show some clients of mine
a $500,000 home. However, his wife went into labor early this morning and thus, they had to postpone the home viewing.
No problem. I now had some unplanned free time for myself.
So, I went to Carnegie Lake in Princeton and took wildlife photos. although it's been raining for the past few days, there was not a cloud in the sky today and I wanted to capitalize on that. When I am there, I often take a nature walk first and then usually end up standing on a bridge over the lake, which affords me nice clear shots of flying birds. I also end up meeting a lot of nice people that way.
Today, while there, I got some terrific shots of a soaring bald eagle.
I also brought some of my photos (8" x 10"'s) with me in a case, as one of the fishermen, who is often there, requested me to do so, the last time I was there.
I have several thousand nature photos online, but that doesn't do any good for a person who doesn't get online and this fisherman is exactly that type of person.
It worked out really well, because not only did this fisherman get to see these photos, that I brought, but they were there for me to refer to, as I often get questions about this bird or that bird by joggers & people doing their weekend nature walks.
One such person owns their own gallery and after seeing my photos today wants to feature them in his gallery. When he asked how much I charge ($20 per 8" x 10") he blurted out "That's all ?!?!". I told him that I was OK financially and not out to fleece anyone. He asked if I would sell the digital images and I flatly told him "no". He was disappointed about that, but I think he'll live. I gave him my business card and he said he would contact me about when he wanted me to do a show.
Another person wants me to take pictures of him and his dog for his business cards and another couple wants me to be the photographer for their daughter's wedding.
I'm still awaiting news about the baby, but not a bad return today for an unplanned nature experience.
I hope you had a good day too.
