The waiting game is on.....

Well I had my interview today for the travel agency.... But may have said a few things wrong. You know how you want to say one thing, and it comes out with something totally different? That was my case today.

When they asked what would I change about myself on my last job, that you would be do differently,

I said, I would try not to get stressed out under preasure. It was relating to when I did shipping, I would worry I would not have time to get it ready in time before UPS came. But it didn't come out sounding like that. And the interviewer said, thanks for your honesty.

Oh, and I thought I had my cell phone off, but I didn't, and it rang while I was in my interview. How embarrassing!!!!blushing

Then of course I had the nervous laugh. laugh

So they will let me know yes I have the job or no, you don't by mail. That's nerve wracking.... Can't you just call me on the phone? Ugh!!!! But sometimes you feel you flubbed up, and they still hire you because they like your personality, or hopefully in this case because they like my phone voice....

help any words of comfort or what you would do differently on an interview let me know. Thanks.

Jeddah,

Thanks my friend. Right now I'm so overtired, and just don't want to get off line. I just wish they would phone me and tell me if I have job or not. Why waste postage stamp. laugh Phone call would be cheaper because I am local....
thumbs up laugh thats what iam saying angel, laugh bouquet
Jeddah,

Great minds think alike.... laugh

Have a blessed week!
Best of luck angeleyes, I'm sure you came over very well and they do allow for nervousness.... After every single interview I went on, I came away thinking perhaps I should have said this or that differently.
It doesn't really matter as I think honesty and just being yourself is far more important than coming across as extremely arrogant and self righteous!! Good luck.... if the job is meant for you, you'll get it, otherwise something there will be something out there for you!
@angel,
the ones you think you flubbed up are the jobs you will always end up getting. If you walk out with confidence, thinking you have the position, they will pass you by.
With interviews it's all about whether or not they think you will fit in their organization. If they think you'll fit the phone will ring!

Cheers, the worst part is always the waiting! cool
What's the problem is your phone rang and you had a nervous laugh? - they likely even didnt pay attantion..
And if you didnt say anything important - you could contact them and say it
Swordfish,
I was so uptight last night, I couldn't sleep. I truely desire this job, and am praying hard they overlook that one question they asked me about what I would change about myself from my last job. I said that I would change how I handle the stess when I am under pressure. How stupid was that! And another bad thing that happened my cell phone went off during the interview.
Yes honesty and being yourself is good, and I hope that will land me the job....I'll keep you all posted.

SherwoodGuy,
I kind of felt confident because I used to work for 2 airlines before, and one of my ex delta friends just got hired, so I feel I should also be hired. But I don't think I appeared to act too confident. I smiled alot and said thank you.
Oh, and the phone won't ring, the answer will come by mail. Hopefully the wait won't be so long.

Undine
No, the nervous laugh was during the interview. But if I sounded good on the phone practice they may take me into consideration, also with my experience with the phones in the airline industry I should get it. (In my oppinon anyway.)
