Why are there so many profiles without pictures???

I have always been curious about those individuals who choose not to post their picture(s) on CS. Visual appreciation and acknowledgment is a part of communication. So why remain hidden from the CS patrons? Non-picture providers; what are your reasons for remaining annonymous? Picture-providers; what are your thought on this? Curious minds want to know!

I have heard various reasons since my stay here. The one I like is they do not know how to post a pic. Well mail it in then they say they will post it for you

You are right it is part of comunication. And it actually is hard to write to someone with out a pic. I am trying that now. It just is lacking the feeling you get with a picture. Yes I know pics can be deceptive and I know some do not post their real pics. And some have pics of them thirty years ago. Is this really how they want to start to know someone.

You got me. If you figure this out good for you. I give.

when I was looking for a guy, I replied to guys without pics only if there was something extraordinary attracting in their mails and profiles

All the comments so far haw weight...
The simple answer is "It is not compulsory ..."
The reason is private and personal...

So you haw a pic...what guarantee is there that you are not a player,involved or married...(see what I mean)

If a lady reads my profile,and something is there that she is looking for...she can haw my pic in less than 5 min...

I have heard this question alot and it is tiresome. People can choose and just because they have a picture it does not mean they are the person in the picture so pictures can sometimes be unreliable

ur question sounds like 100% of the communication depends only on the pic. i think some of the members who their profiles doesn't have pic like me (or as u named us face less) answered ur question with reasonable reasons.

for me,i don't post photos in a social network, i did it once in the past and it was stupid, i m not gonna do it again.

do u think all profiles that have pic r geniune? cuz i don't think so.

I do not have a picture posted. I have sent pictures by other means. The truth is I have my own business and or should I say I have added a partner and I would not think it would be for her or myself professional.I really don't trust the internet as putting it out there.I have pictues of myself and granchildren,but who wants to see the little ones. People always think you're hiding something , but I'm not. I lost my soul mate from cancer and and also my Father. Tried to get on a site to get aquanted with others and trying not to dwell on my loss. Not really lookiing, but one never knows.
