Is this news…

Hi, this is my first blog.

I guess the reason I'm doing this is because I wake up everyday and read the news headlines from around the world via RSS feeds.

Here's what I've noticed:

French News:
FRANCE: Rwandan leader’s widow granted time to fight extradition for genocide.
LA Times:
Midterm election's big loser is the political center.
NY Times:
Coordinated Bombings Strike Across Baghdad.
Reuters:
California marijuana legalization goes up in smoke.
Yahoo Europe
Parts of Scottish airport evacuated after item found: police (AFP)
Yahoo Mexico
Mexico police find 9 bodies in grave near Acapulco (AP)
Sydney Morning Herald
Another sticky end.
'Good bloke' gunned down.
Coogee's revved up driver.
Door opened to killers.
'Best big wave rider ever'.
Gibbs recounts wild tour.
Banks bashed with 'Barbara'.

Now, you may be wondering why I included so many from the Sydney Morning Herald?

Because I live in Sydney.

This is the best newspaper in Australia yet its headlines are so brief as to conceal most meaning!!!??? What does "Another sticky end" mean. The article is about doughnut monopolies.

Every other reader in the world can skim through their headlines to see if there's anything pertaining to them…I actually have to read the article!

Is paper and ink more expensive in Australia or something? I don't get it!

Please feel free to comment, and provide an explanation-real or humorous-as to this discrepancy!
