True Love

What does true love mean to you? Its a subject that many have pondered, many have questioned since the beginning of time. Crazy love, passionate love, obsessive love, are any of these really love? Love, to me, is compassion, understanding, gratitude, patience, it is seeing with the heart, it is loving unconditionally, not demanding or expecting love in return. True Love is free. Its unbounded. Its open and accepting and forgiving. It is not attaching yourself to an outcome or an expectation of how someone is going to be. Our expectations of what we call love are very rarely what we experience therefore we are disappointed, we are hurt, we are offended. We are always getting offended by things. By people. When you live in a box, everything is confined. Nothing is ever as bad as our minds make it out to be. Its my belief that loving yourself is the key to finding love elsewhere, because the thing we are all searching for is love, isnt it? Its a person to share our lives with. A person to be there at our best and worst, and love us anyway. But when we are really into a person, it can make us crazy. It can make us irrational and sometimes even cruel. We don't know what to do with the love because we haven't really experienced it within ourselves. We are afraid to lose it so we cling to it, and that clinging puts a big strain on the relationship. But if you love yourself in a respectful and unconditional way, then you will know that you deserve to find the love of your life in a real, freeing, amazing way. You will put that message out there and it will happen for you.

See with your heart, and know that love is all that matters :)

wave Hi! You must be new to these blogs. We already defined this "true love". I don't want to be responsible for disappointing you so I will keep it a secret.
bummer and i missed it .
true love to me.....when icare more about the other persons want and needs than my own and she feels the same way...so its true give and take
by going with how you all have described true love, only parents-children relations qualifies for true love. Its nearly impossible to achieve the qualities like "Crazy love, passionate love, obsessive love, are any of these really love? Love, to me, is compassion, understanding, gratitude, patience, it is seeing with the heart, it is loving unconditionally, not demanding or expecting love in return. True Love is free. Its unbounded. Its open and accepting and forgiving. It is not attaching yourself to an outcome or an expectation of how someone is going to b" in any other relation.
For me true love is beyond all logics and reasoning
this is my 2nd response, after really thinking about this,i think true love is when you dont try and change that person at all you accept that person 100 persent for who they are even when oyu disagree with them, when you are totally happy with your mate, ive tryed to change people i was with and had then try and change me,we were with the wrong person
thats what i mean. i was just sharing my opinion anyways
True love is when you meet your "soulmate"..A person who feels the same level of love towards you that you do towards them and neither would ever try to hurt their partner.
