Update - arrived safely in Florida
Hello Connecting Single Friends,I arrived in Florida last night.
Thankully, it was an uneventful, albeit long drive.
Well, it wasn't totally uneventful. Along route 95
south of Jacksonville I saw an osprey nest and
an osprey perched nearby. I made a note of which
mile marker for the trip back in early April.
Also, near the southern border I stopped in a Georgia
state park. It looks like they too will be offering my photos
for sale (Rutgers will be selling them starting in the spring). The ranger in charge loved them.
On the way back towards route 95, I saw a red shouldered hawk perched in a tree near a firehouse. So, with permission I parked at the firehouse and got some terrific shots of the hawk.
I got fairly close, indeed, closer than the bird liked.
So, he took off and flew to a nearby taller tree.
I moved my car out of the firehouse and went walking over
to where the bird was now perched. After a bit, he started
screaming at me and took off. I ended up getting some really
terrific shots both of him perched and soaring.
Today it rained here most of the day. But, there was a very nice rainbow afterwards, that I got shots of. I'm now in the process of fixing my aunt's cabinets and repairing my fence.
Apparently, there was some storm damage while I was gone.
I'm presently at the library on their computer. I have a whole whopping 45 minutes of use with about 15 minutes left.
I called the cable guy and should be hooked back up with high speed internet access in about 4 days or so.
I hope all is well with you and that you are enjoying the holiday season !
Best wishes,
Jim
