Problem is, such techniques give equal numbers of false positives. Just being nervous, for instance, even if there's nothing to hide or to lie about. Some people simply don't respond well to overly direct questions, or don't do well in one-on-one interviews because they feel "on the spot" all the time and aren't relaxed. Others are in positions where saying the wrong thing or saying something that can be taken in the wrong way could have negative consequences. The only sure way to detect a lie is to know the truth and ask anyway.

Well, I would have to say if you saw someone leaving a Democratic Convention after it was over, and their mouth is open/moving...then your sure to have spotted a LIAR!!!
