happy birthday elvis
i wanted to pay tribute to Elvis Aaron Presley who was born on January 8th 1935, he would have been celebrating his 76th birthday tomorrow had he still been alive todayelvis had a sound and style that was unique, his musical influences were pop and country music of the time, the gospel music he sang in church and the black R&B he heard on the street as a teenager
it was not just his music people love about him though although admittedly he had talent but he was good looking, had a great sense of humour was a kind man which was demonstrated throughout his life
he defiantly was one of a kind
He starred in 33 successful films, made television appearances, live concert performances. Globally, he has sold over one billion records, more than any other artist. His American sales earned him gold, platinum, multi-platinum awards. Among his many awards were 14 Grammy nominations(3 wins) one of which was the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award which he received at age 36, and his being named One of the Ten Outstanding Young Men of the Nation for 1970 by the United States.he also served his country in the U.S. Army.
i was only 6 months old when elvis died but i grew up with his music through my dad and now my kids enjoy his music also, its amazing how after 34 years people of all ages are still enjoying his music and his concerts which i have been to plenty of still get packed out
there will only ever be one elvis, he is truly inspirational, somene i have looked up to and admired through my whole life x

If there is one thing that occupies my mind more than anything else it is the commonality of mankind.
From the jungles of Africa to the wealth of Europe and the USA there are certain things that bind us together. One of these common threads is Elvis. He has brought joy and entertainment in a fashion that is universal.
Thanks for the remembrance of a hero to the entire world. A man who was an influence to every living musician.

i have his name tattoo'd on my back, i just wish i had got the opportunity to have met him, i have met all his band members and the sweet sensations who are also wonderful people

i have not got a song i dislike of elvis, every song he ever sang was sung with such passion, he was a man who loved music and sung with love in his heart
