Going nowhere, feeling 'down' then maybe consider

I used to think that no one cared about me, always feeling sorry for myself. Then I saw this poem, I've 'tweaked' it a little but its message still got through to me, now I see life differently and am content.

THE FACE IN THE GLASS

When you get what you want in your struggle for self
and the world thinks you king or queen for a day.
Just go to the mirror and look at yourself and see
what that face has to say.
For it's not your Father or Mother nor even your
Husband or Wife whose judgement upon you, they must pass.
For the person whose verdict counts most in your life,
is the one staring back at you in the glass.
You may be like Jack Horner and pull out a plum, then
think you're a clever gal or a guy.
But the face in the glass says you're only a bum if
you can't look it straight in the eye.
That's the person to please, never mind all the rest;
for it's with you right up to the end.
And you've passed the most difficult test in your life,
if that face in the glass is your friend.
You may fool the world, down the pathway of years
and get pats on the back as you pass.
But your final reward will be heartache and tears,
if you've cheated that face in the glass.

If you're not happy with yourself, you won't be happy with anyone else.

Nice poem. The problem is you try hard to be yourself. You get pushed aside by many people before you find some diamonds in the rough. Time moves on a quick pace. You try hard to be happy. There is not always enough patience to keep your emotional feelings in balance. You don't want to be a bad guy; yet you find yourself trying to keep from being too nice or acting desperate.professor
VERY TRUE. KEEP THEM COMING.
I think we all need support and encouragement from outside sources. The rest is up to us.wave
