One woman's mess....

.....is another woman's artwork.

I cannot find taper candles that drip anymore; not even at thrift stores. I have to manually melt other candles so that they drip on my "candle dripping over the bottle" thing. What a wonder - am I really the only one who has one of these? I started it probably 5 years ago, took a 2 year hiatus and when I got back to it, the candles wouldn't drip.

The odd thing, in a way, is that the center is one of the thousands of bottles discarded by my then alcoholic mate......(he's still an alcoholic but no longer my mate.) And since I like this creation so much, I guess it really is true treasure from true trash.

(This was a mere musing, - it ain't too deep). cool

Actually, any candle will drip if the ambient temperature is high enough. That's why candles used for lighting purposes (I lived quite "primitively" for two years, using candle lanterns for light and heating with a tiny wood stove!) last longer if the room is kept cool. If you want your tapers to drip, simply turn up the heat. They will burn less efficiently, but will certainly drip.
I suppose I could increase the heat by placing other candles around the "original" one - I don't see myself heating up the whole house just for drips - even if they are fun and colorful.
I have heated a whole house for drips..sigh Sadly, more than once..frustrated
