Thoughts on osama

Osama is dead, hooray from one person to the next, facebook posts all over the place OSAMA IS DEAD! In reality its changed absolutely nothing. There has always been terrorist attacks in america as well as england and probably anywhere else in the world. Osama decided to publicize himself, obviously for the attention and to form a stronger unity with people with his same beliefs. Osama is nothing more than a spokes person to the massive amount of terrorist that still will continue to exist long after his death. But somehow how killing osama is suppose to mean something to us. Well it dont mean shit to me. Embracing someones death across the world, watching from an outside perspective from my point of view doesnt look like anyones winning here, and i think its a sad display of how people are acting about it. I think the real victory would be to change the way people think, but that requires more time and more words then killing someone and calling it a day.

With Osama Bin Laden wiped out the surface of this earth doesn't solve the problem at all... Bet there are already many young trained Osama Bin Laden's running around this globe. And I total agree with you Piers..we have to change the way to think in order to tackle the problem..
For as long as hunger for power,greed,the desire to push ones own way of thinking/life style on others and ignorance keep on ruling,nothing will change..JMHO
I don't know why anyone would say it is a sad display.They were over 3000 people that was killed by tha crazy idiot. Not counting all the other spots ,,,USS Cole, etc. that he murdered people. These people had families, I would celebrate too, they finally got closure. peace yay yay yay yay yay yay peace peace wine wine wine drinking drinking drinking applause applause applause applause cheering cheering banana banana head banger head banger

And I need peace
How does anyone know that he was really killed? They darn near blew his head off and then threw the body off of a building... I'm not so sure...
@rowdy - DNA tested against DNA from one of his sisters.

@oly23 - thumbs up

We celebrate that, in the end, he didn't get away from responsibility. The event is his death but we are not celebrating death.

It's is a psychological win. We know this man who strives to harm others, will not be harming anyone else. If he had surrendered, he would still be alive.
Well, we have a president in this country that is supposed to have a birth certificate too...???
@ineedtolove, ok osama bin laden killed over 3000 people. How many people did president bush kill sending us thier in our own military?
Bin laden also had killed innocent civilians in LONDON and other parts of the world..He seemed to be a radical who wanted the whole world to change over to his religion and felt everyone should die if they didnt believe or live the way he thinks everyone should live..Aparantly he plotted some attacks while he was being hidden in his pakistan home..I'm just relieved he cannot do these plots anymore..
@jana The penalties for desertion include the death penalty, but that hasn't been done since January 1945 in the case of Private Edward Slovik. Prior to that, the death penalty for desertion had not been used since the Civil War. More commonly, a conviction by courts martial will impose prison time, forfeiture of all pay and allowances, and dishonorable discharge. At the discretion of the military court, lesser penalties may be imposed, depending on mitigating circumstances.
The individual's commanding officer decides what level of military discipline will be applied, starting with non-judicial punishment, which can be informal at company level and has no permanent record, or Article 15 proceedings, which are made part of the permanent record. Article 15 punishment can include extra duty, fines, restrictions, or demotion. The next level is courts martial, which can be either summary or general. A general courts martial requires a general officer as convening authority, and is the only type that can impose the death penalty.

This is a recent post by an army vet, once you join the military you dont have a choice. These are all harsh penalties and some forms of desertion depending on the circumstances can lead to a death penalty. Sure everyone has a choice to join the army or military but you most definitely dont have a choice in what wars you want to fight in after that.
Piers,

I just want to see this so called dead man's face. I don't believe the goverment, their must be proof...
