the scientific miracles in Quran

THE SEAS NOT MINGLING WITH ONE ANOTHER

One of the properties of seas that has only recently been discovered is related in a verse of the Qur'an as follows:

He has let loose the two seas, converging together, with a barrier between them they do not break through. (Qur'an, 55:19-20)

This property of the seas, that is, that they meet and yet do not intermix, has only very recently been discovered by oceanographers. Because of the physical force called "surface tension," the waters of neighbouring seas do not mix. Caused by the difference in the density of their waters, surface tension prevents them from mingling with one another, just as if a thin wall were between them.60

It is interesting that, during a period when there was little knowledge of physics, and of surface tension, or oceanography, this truth was revealed in the Qur'an.

Interesting learn something new everyday, heres one...the sky is its colour because the sun shines on the sea, then reflexs back up to the sky, giving the sky its colour. (can’t say if its true)
The sky does not get it's color from the seas reflection. It's blue ( most of the time ) because the upper atmosphere filters out the shorter wavelenghts ( red, yellow, etc. ) and passes the longer ones ( blue ). the sea is blue because it reflects the sky . I also aludded to the sky being most of the time blue, around the fringes ( usualy at low light levels ) it appears redish or shades thereof . It's the same thing as a rainbow , an optical alusion .
When the suns gone frank the sky is black and the sea remains the same colour, can you explain this.
Look it up on the net . The sea and other parts of the plannet do reflect and recive light for other objects ( moom stars, etc ) While we are on the subject, how is it possable to see the seas whan there is no light . Just to add a bit more to it, on a dead dark night shine a flash light on the water and tell me what color it is .
Looked on the net frank and it says black most of the time. Must be why the sky is black to...maybe.
There are others too..like how a human being is formed..

Light is a kind of energy that can travel through space.light from the sun or a light bulb looks white.but it is really a mixture of many colors.the colors in white light are red, orange, yellow, green ,blue and violet.you can see these colors when you look at a rainbow in the sky.
The sky is filled with air.Air is a mixture of tiny gas melecules and small bits of solid stuff like dust.As sunlight goes through the air it bumps into the molecules and dust .when light hits agas molecules.it may bounce off in a different direction. Some color of light like red and orange pass straight through the air.but most of the blue light bounce off in all directions .in this way the blue light gets scattered all around the sky.when you look up some of this blue light reaches your eyes from all over the sky .since you see the blue light from everywher overhead .the sky looks blue.
diamond easy to understand answer. The sky is a blank canvas painted with many colours.
yes it is but it coloured in blue by the way a have explained above.
The red sky?, the yellow sky? etc.
sorry ru4eva .
We were both wrong
Look...in space there is no air because there is nothing for the light to bounce off.it just goes straight none of the light get scattered, and the sky looks dark and black..it is not blank canvas as u said.ok
diamond I'll have a look on the net now see what it has to say. Thats a good one about the sea though.
only in blue ,dear .and that is need a long time to be explained ..wavelength, the flash etc..
Oh anybody help .where are u Frank ..i need ur help...ru4eva please don't go net i get tired.
@iamwho
Thats ok..don't worry i am ready all the time....but if they were like ru4eva OMG ...mybe i have to give up.
I'm back...

Your version was the closet diamond, and it did have something to do with reflexions.

I'll let you rest now.

I'm aproud of u dear for you prefer to check and scan and don't take the information as it isteddybear
The reason that the sky is red or shades thereof is becucse you are seeing it in lower light ( dawn and dusk ) you are also looking at the light comming from the edge . Thats why it is mostly on the horizon . It is the same as a rainbow. the light gets split up into primary colors through the prisim efect . It is the water droplets that do this . the colors that you see are dependent on the angle you look at it . You are right about white light being all the colors but they split into just three primarys . From the mixing of the primarys you get all color . That's why your color TV only has three color guns .
Yes frank the light reflects off the raindrops. Look at it this way light has to reflect off something to appear in our eyes. Otherwise it will pass straight on through to nowhere. I retact my comment I'm right now.
Shine a light at a mirror frank it will shine back at you. Shine that same light at the cloulds it will reflect back.

Try this frank shine a light on a bowl of blue or green water. Hold a white piece of paper on top of the bowl (as if it was the sky). What colour can you see.

Same gose in the dersert the sky reflects off the heat wave to make mirage's. Light needs a surface to rebound off.
Light cannot pass through opaque objects.
Light passes through transparent objects.

Opaque objects are black or colored stones, metals, wood, brick walls, etc.

Transparent objects are glass, clear plastic, clear water, your eye lens and cornea, etc.

Light is the visible part of the electromagnetic spectrum, which consists of Gamma rays, X-rays, Ultraviolet rays, visible light, infrared rays, microwaves, radio waves.

All radiations follow Einstein's Law of Special Relativity that at the same time, they are both particle with mass and staying stationary in one place, plus at the same time they are waves moving at 300 million meters per second or 'c'. This dual nature of light was explained and proved by Albert Einstein.

Other forces like electricity, momentum due to a heavy object falling, etc. do not follow this law, and are for us normal objects.
