I have some very sad news for you
A couple of days ago, Peter Falk died.
He was 83.
It's not totally clear what the exact cause was. But, it is known that he had been suffering from advanced Alzheimer's that had been getting worse over the last few years.
You remember Peter, don't you ? He was best known for his role as Detective Frank Columbo on TV.

You may remember that rumpled guy with the tattered raincoat and beat up car, who always had "just one more thing that bothered" him.... and the crime suspect.
What you may not know about him is that;
he lost his right eye to cancer at age 3
he was passed over for the role of Columbo. It was
originally given to Bing Crosby, who decided not to take it.
he won 5 Emmys, 4 for Columbo
he was an artist who did charcoal drawings
he was twice nominated for an Academy Award
he won a Golden Globe award
Columbo aired in 27 countries and was especially successful in France and Iran.
Peter, thanks for the many terrific episodes, providing ispiration to all perceived underdogs and may you rest in peace.
He is survived by a couple of daughters by a previous marriage and by his "lovely wife" of the last 33 years, actress Shera Danese, who guest appeared on several Columbo episodes.

Seemed like a great guy who was an awesome actor. 2 academy award nominations as well. Love this guy.
