Fireflies & Friendships

While I was standing in left field playing softball on Tuesday night a firefly (lightning bug) landed on my shoulder. I smiled, as it brought back childhood memories of catching these bugs in a mason jar with cheesecloth as the lid and seeing how many one could collect and how bright the jar would light up. It also brought back memories of childhood friends and had me wondering where some of them ended up. dunno

Then, the ball got hit my way and I flew after it and the bug flew off my shoulder. Perhaps he went to light up someone else's life. hug

When I was a little girl, me and my sister used to catch fireflies in a glass mason jar then wait untill it got dark out and see if their butts lit up. laugh

Yes, AS, we did win. We were down 2 runs in the bottom of the last inning, but scored 3 to win it. It was a very nice
comeback win against a good opponent. applause

i still collect fireflys with my nieces n nephews.yay it's still fun doing . lol got to pass on the tradition i'll bet that tradition has been passed down for centuries collecting the fireflys.grin i wonder who started it maybe george washington to light the laterns for the boats on the potomac at night.cool laugh cheers peace

Yes ! Another win ! applause We won 13 - 9 and I went 4 for 4 at the plate. It was a perfect evening, partly sunny and 82 F.
