The silence of the door
A week ago I bought a BUNCH of candy for Halloween.Since then a storm blew through and dumped record
amounts of snow on the area.
Indeed, we don't usually get snow until December.
The previous record was something like 0.3 inches (7.6 cm)
for the entire month of October.
The entire area obliterated their records.
Locally, we got 3 inches on Saturday.
Some areas got 12 inches or more.
Now, after the storm it is very cold.
Tonight its something like 25 degrees F. ( - 3.9 C)
Thus, it's kept most of the trick or treaters inside.
Around 6 pm five gals, who were really a bit too old to
be trick & treating,
rang my bell and were dressed like slutty cats.

They got their choice of candy bars.
The chubbiest of the gals asked for 2 candy bars and I told her "no".
I said, "I have to save the others for the other 'trick or treaters'.
She said, "there are no other 'trick or treaters' tonight".
I thought, that perhaps, she might have been saying that,
just to get more candy, as it was still early,
but it turned out, that she was right.
Either way, she's the last one who needed an extra candy bar.
At 10:30 pm I turned off my porch light.
No one else showed up the whole night.
Wimps !
So, now I have 8 bags of candy leftover.
I guess I'll be eating that until next Halloween.
Want a candy bar ?
