OMG ! American Samoa won !
The American Samoa soccer team has NEVER ever won,not even once in 17 years.
They've never even scored a goal in any FIFA sanctioned match.
Australia once beat them 31 - 0.
There's more holes in that defense than Swiss cheese.
They are ranked 214th in the world (last).
Yet somehow, they actually beat Tonga 2 to 1.
While it's true that Tonga in no world power themselves
hey congrats go out to Samoa
It just goes to show that with persistence, practice and some
heart, you CAN achieve victory.....over Tonga.
They are going to make a movie about this.
I'm not making it up.
Apparently, you only need one measly win to become movie stars.

Samoa's first goal bounced off the Tonga goalkeeper's hands.
didnt they hit their own gates?..(it might explain why there was only 1 goal)

It sort of reminds me somewhat of the Jamaican bobsled team,
except they had to overcome many more challenges, like,
where they heck do you get snow in Jamaica ??
They also might have had trouble getting past the drug testing too
But, a first win is a first win. Take it while you can get it.
Honestly, the only sports I can think of that are more boring than soccer are 'curling' and golf.

One of the fans there informed me that
American Samoa plays Samoa tomorrow
for the chance to advance in the tournament.
Regardless, I will not be holding my breath
awaiting an outcome.
