Getting tail
As some of you are aware,I post a large number of photos
on another site for sale each week,
a big whopping $20 each.
However, since this site isn't set up for
anything like that, lucky you,
you get to see one for free each week.
While I was canoing a few months back,
I saw a redtail hawk up in a tree
on the other side of the road.
So, I parked my canoe near the
edge of the woods, got out
and crunched my way through the woods
and thickets.
I figured the hawk would fly before I got near to it.
But, I was pleasantly surprised that it was
still up in the same tree when I got about 20 yards from it.
It turns out that it was busy devouring a squirrel.
I ended up taking over 200 photos of it.
It ate every last bit of that squirrel, even the bones
and even the tail.
Here it is with the last bit of it, the tail, sticking out of it's mouth.
Oh, by the way, I used the word "it", only because,
I'm not really sure, if it's a male, or a female.
With most hawks, owls and eagles, the females are much larger,
however, in redtails the difference is small.
Females average about 25% larger than males.
So, honestly, I'm not sure if it's a he, or a she.
Thankfully, one can USUALLY tell the difference with most humans.
Anyway, here's your weekly Jimnastics photo to look at for free.
