...things that makes all first timers deal with...

unexpected things occurs in unexpected time...it's really sad that in my 5 years nursing career,I was faced with a dilemma on how to approach the family of my dead patient,he died while i'm his nurse on that shift,and it made me sad...crying

If you did what you should do you have nothing to feel bad about. You will feel sad it is normal but bare in mind that this is the cycle of life. comfort

if you did nothing wrong tell them the truth. you are just human to sympathize with them.

I'm his nurse and it's a success for nurses if we see them recovering but with my patient he's really sick,atlist he died peacefully...the family understood and accepted,they didn't question even one...
@ Keithmaui ~ wave Death is indeed the most remarkable of life's incidences (a paradox in itself), no matter how much & often it is accosted ~ to reveal the news to surviving family members or spouses is no mean feat! Trust Spirit to put the right words in your mouth at the right time; that's all you can do. angel innocent angel thumbs up
i can't help you there i have trouble communicating in normal situations .

I hate seeing patients dying. And indeed it is very difficult to face the relatives and tell the devastating news. During such situations, we let the doctors do the talking. blues blues
