Song-Josephine
Long time no talk, folks. I do have a few other songs sitting around I'll put up over the next week. Hang tight:)Just a little Josephine
Writing my pain on these pages that...
You'll never see
Blood tears streaked with oil
Sooth the dead that live inside of me
I have no face, don't you look
I'm a blight on your shallow society
I take up space that you'd rather see
Filled with hookers on crack
My sister don't want me
She has her own insecurities
My grandma don't love me
I'm just another atheist to turn
But I love em anyway
I'm a cursed Josephine
Cursed Josephine
Stop infecting this world
With your life
No no you can't get rid of me ever
I'm here until I'm sick of me too
I still love you all the time
You get sick and I'm takin care of you
You get what you've been dreamin of
I'm there right by your side with a smile
I won't turn away from you
When you feel like there's nothing left
I'll take your hand and give you my heart
Your life will never be lonely even if...
My sister don't want me
She has her own insecurities
My grandma don't love me
I'm just another atheist to turn
But I love em anyway
I'm a cursed Josephine
Cursed Josephine
Stop comin' round
Don't need your kind here... anymore
One day you'll accept me
And we'll work it all out
You've all tried to hide it
But I know you're still there
And..
I love you still
An..and you can shun me
Lock me outta the doors
Like I'm some sorta zombie
Gunna rip your brain out
But I love ya even though...
My sister don't want me
She has her own insecurities
My grandma don't love me
I'm just another atheist to turn
But I love em anyway
I'm just a...just a...just a cursed Josephine
Still loving this world I'm in
(spoken)
cursed Josephine
About: Josephine is about me. Yes, I am aware my name isn't Josephine. However, there have been 2 Josephines in my life. One real, one literary. Josephine March from the book Little Women was a very talented woman who never felt like she fit into her peer group. She didn't want to be the meek little house wife expected of her, but wanted to see the world, and accept people for who they were regardless of their birth. Karma comes back to you in mysterious ways. She didn't want to be a wife, but became one, in an equal marriage.
The second Josephine, was an Ojibwe nurse who took care of my mother as she suffered through chemotherapy. And for that, I am forever grateful.
So the song, being called Josephine is about someone who doesn't fit in, isn't accepted for what she wants, who she is, or even what time period, but...no matter. She still loves her world. I infused the two together to create one very special Josephine that hopefully the world will come to love too some day.
