Courage in a small package

A 12-year old boy who has battled a rare form of cancer since he was 7 has made a bold decision. He is stopping his treatments so he can go home and be with his family.

Alex Rodriguez is aware of what his decision means. So is his hometown of Shelbyville, Tenn., which has rallied around the boy who is facing such a stark decision with such maturity and good humor.sad flower sad flower sad flower gift gift

I do wish he would not give up.
Even if the wins are only 2 years
per treatment, it continues life until
a better cure can be found.
Life is too precious to ever give up.

Well he's battled the cancer for 5 years that is a long time especially for a young child. He just wants to be a kid. He lost 5 years of his childhood to cancer & missing out on things because of it. Good for him for wanting to be with his family to the end. Not many people get that opportunity to do so.

Being sick changes your life & your perspective on things...& he learnt that at an early age. At least he's not on his deathbed wishing he had more time with his family. He's making it happen now. At your last moments what's important is....love & relationships & family.

What a brave little boy. As Weepingmist said it puts things into perspective with by comparison our little moans and groans. At the end of the day it's his decision and for him it's the right decision. I wish him and his family luck and hope that they enjoy whatever time he has left. hug hug comfort
