Gigging... Memories part two...
From here on out it slowly blurs into what would become a few years later pretty much the only thing I was doing for the best part of 15 years... a few highlights I can remember, Christian Death at The Colchester Uni, ended up going there many many many times as well, Got to see the Sisters of Mercy there as well!! a rather brill band called Ausgang, who I talked to for a good hour after the gig and promised to be there on the return, alas the return was in early 84, and I was in no state to go anywhere, a motorbike accident pretty much killed off a years worth of gigging, I did get to go and see Bauhaus in that time tho!!! thankfully I had got the pins out and a plaster on by the time they played... ermm I think it was the Ipswich Gaumont?? Ended up stuck at the train station over night... kolly hockey sticks, a goth type with smeared make up hobbling with a huge plaster sleeping on a railway station floor, the supervisor tried to move us all on but where faced with around 40 knackered drunk goths all saying sod off there wasn't much he could do apart from lock us in!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Pete Murphys line to remember from the night... "some of you are very good... some are very bad... I'm not sure who I like the most!" classic :)and also to think... a couple of years after seeing the sisters, I would be on almost mate terms with Gary Marx, the gothfather himself!!! sitting chatting all afternoons at festivals and the likes, wicked eh!!!
Hmmmm Best stop for now!!!
