OPEN LETTER
An open letter to the people of AmericaWhat I see saddens me. I see our basic rights and the foundation upon which this great country is built upon crumbling. I see apathy reside in the majority of eyes. I meet kids who do not even recognize the Declaration of Independence. I see a system, governed by an elite few, rigged to their advantage. There is something that lives inside me that prevents from sitting idly by. I have tried, I can't. I have no anger towards our government; rather, my displeasure is aimed at us, the people. We have become sheep in a flock tended to by a shepherd that rubs our noses in our fallacy. This country was founded that no supreme authority may ever exist.Yet, it does. We are subject to laws and codes that our founders gave their lives so that would never happen. I believe our government wants a people that think they are free, not people who think freely. Please America, I implore you, before it gets too late and it is almost there. Let's take the power back to the people. I submit that as a citizen of these United States of America, that it is time.i call not for overthrow, because that is not an option. I call for this, that I give my life, my will, and my honor that as is our duty, I will not stand for injustice, or a government that decides what we can and cannot do. It is the fundamental right of every person to live their life and believe what they want as long as no one gets hurt. A united populace is a threat to the livelihood of the corrupt system in place. Please America; open thine eyes to the truth. If enough people care change can happen. It happened 200 years ago. It can happen now.
