This is actually served in a restaurant, Serendipity, in New York City.Believe it or not, they sell about one per month.
Maybe it's the same customer.
Perhaps this person doesn't realize that you can get
a whole pint of Haagen Dazs for less than $5.
Nonetheless, it costs $1,000
and has to be ordered 48 hours in advance.
This is partly because the ingredients
are literally flown in from various parts of the world
including the world's most expensive chocolate,
fresh vanilla beans and perhaps most unusual,
edible gold leaf. Yep, real gold.

Anyhow, I was looking for a picture of it and came across a few other expensive "treats" like $368 for Kobe beef dinner which I read is a fraud.

For $25,000 one would think you could get ice cream on
the side if you wanted.
Truffles are part of an underground mushroom.
They often use trained pigs or dogs to find them.
They are somewhat rare and thus, quite expensive.
Godiva also has a chocolate line they call truffles,
but it isn't all that expensive.
