"The Fishes" by Chris Knight, part of a newbuild on Gloucester Street, St Helier, developed by a company called Dandara.
The reflected building is Jersey Opera House.
I decided to take this photo at night as it really the only chance to get a shot without traffic in it. Gloucester Street is one of St Helier's busiest.
I do have a daytime shot similar to this without traffic ( taken on Christmas morning when there really was no traffic ) but the night-time shot is more interesting I think.

Way back in the 60's, or thereabouts, in the Watts community in Los Angeles an artist created the "Watts Tower". It stood there for many years but I believe it is razed now. It was pieces of metal welded together but I could never figure it out. The important thing it meant something to someone.
Long live art!
The street's very busy and the architecture is hardly inspiring.
If nothing else, The Fishes allowed me to get a groovy picture of Jersey's Opera House.
As for meaning? To me, it doesn't need to mean anything. Something pretty to look at, or something displaying talent and skill in it's creation, is good enough. Whether I like something or not is a different thing altogether.
