Pets or no pets !

im a ex dog breader but at thiis current time i own 6 huskys my ex was terifyed of dogs but heres the deal if u love or carefor that person it shouldnt matter but in some cases yes it can change and or affect a relation ship

I love my pets as if they are my kids, and I could NEVER 'trade' them for a relationship with a guy- They need me and rely on me to take care of them.
I made a commitment when I took them.
A pet gives you unconditional love unlike humans
I always check out the guys in the pet aisle , or pet supply store
I figure we would already have something in common!
It shows that a person is responsible in the long run if they can be a good pet owner.

I have to agree with most on this subject, i have a cat 15yrs old, and a chinese sharpei who is my pride and joy, if a guy didnt like my dog or vice versa well then i know it could never work, as for him(my dog) sitting all over my bed or even couches that is unacceptable, he has his own bed and yes i believe it all comes down to training.

I have worked with animals all my working life, and grew up with pets. I trained in both animal care and Horse management and presently work for a welfare charity.

I find that you can tell alot about a person by their pets if they have any. If the pet(s) are clean, tidy, well cared for, affectinate etc.. then the owner tends to be that way too. As the animals are mirrors of their owners! All pet(s), wheather cat, dog, horse, or others have to be trained to know their place in the household (or pecking order), otherwise they tend to donimate the owner and this can be very dangerous at times.

As far as relationships are concerned, it depends on how much you love a person, wheather you take everything that comes with that person or walk away. It works both ways, but generally if you really can't have pets as part of your life, then you need to find someone who feels the same way. I have 4 cats, 3 horses and 2 dogs, and if a guy comes part of my life he would also have to be part of my pets lives, otherwise it would never work.

I trusted an ex with looking after a dog of mine a few years ago, whilst I was at work and to my horror he let it off the lead by a main road, the dog ran out in front of a car, and died 48hrs later at the vets. Needless to say the relationship was over! The trust was gone, what if that had been a child??? If you can be like that to an animal, your well capable to do it to a human. I respect those who dont love or like animals as we are all different, but at least your open about it, and don't have them, which is fine.
