The speed at which the sound barrier occures is proportional to the atmosphere and it's density . He may have exceeded the velocity in free fall at ground level mach 1 but I don't know what it would be at that altitude . It will have to be determined if indeed he was succsessful in that endevor . Congradulations anyway, quite an achievment . . .
I was eating my dinner at the time, and just sat there with my fork suspended in mid air (excuse the pun!). Couldn't eat anything! It was too exciting!!!!!
