Kren

(Horseradish)

Contains about 0,8% Sinigrin which changes to Allylisothiocyanat C4H5NS. This mustard oil is responsible for the sharp taste and the body reactions.
Today I harvested some roots, washed and cleaned them. Then put them in the mincer.
U can't imagine what a river u cry if u stand next to it!
Then I filled it in glasses.

What do you use it for? That's my question.grin teddybear
Its actually quite good with some pork roast or in the soup
I love horseradish...but since I quit eating meat I haven't had any in a long time......doh
U can mix it with ketchup as an everyday use.

Or have it with a special part of beef: Tafelspitz. But not the pure kren, make a sauce and add some conserved sour pumpkin.

"Horse"-radish may be a misleading word or a wrong translation. The real meaning lies a bit in the darkness.
