Paying it forward-ish :)

At my former job I was surrounded by women of all ages and backgrounds. The one thing that all of the women had in common was gossiping. This was a huge disappointment to me. I felt let down by my fellow woman.
When did we decide that kindness was a sign of weakness? I feel the opposite is true. Rising above feelings of hostility, hatred or hurt and choosing to love and care makes for a stronger individual in my eyes.
Anyways, one day I overheard a woman whom I admire mention that she had the same issue and suggested a solution. Why don't we use our time helping someone in need rather than tearing down others? Instead, why don't we build someone back up?
Maybe you know someone who recently lost their job. Ask friends, co-workers or acquaintances to chip in a little something to help out. Make a meal for a grieving family, help the elderly with errands or housework.
We can make a difference with little effort and be the change that we want to see in the world with simple acts of kindness. :)
