Valentines reflection (ode to sadness)
I wrote this poem as some what of a paradox. It was a project I took on this late afternoon and took me through till now.
I wrote it as some one who is although alone on this day, finding solace by using the sadness as a mirror to look and reflect the good memories that sometimes get lost in our mixed emotions.
It is after all Part of the human condition to be sad and so long as we don't dwell to long, part of a healing process.I Imagine Without which we would not Know,
The tragedies of Shakespeare
Poems by Yeats, Auden or T S Eliot.
Books by Steinbeck and Hemingway,
and of course Great Music like Mozart's Requiem,
or Beethovens Moonlight Sonata. Not to forget the blues.
It is with this sentiment that I can say with all my heart that this Day belongs as much to the loveless as it does to the loved.
Keep the Faith my friends
I walk in your life on a journey discreet.
A Path of Questions Who's answers compete,
unsettled or doubtful, somehow incomplete.
my burden of knowledge makes heavy your feet.
The passing of loved ones, or emotional tide.
You will find are places where I like to ride.
You can not escape me nor run or try hide.
If you do you will notice together we're tied.
So come and embrace me for, just a short while,
and remember the reason you bowed in my aisle.
Now genuflect gently and leave for life's Trial.
You can Call on me often, but don't let me Beguile.

It is in this state of mind that they created some of the best work available to human kind.
What's your favourite opus of all.
well done you !! --you most certainly have a gift for writing !
Great poem by the way. Remains me of Shakespeare.
Welela I am glad to hear that.
I said it because this is what I believe, you earned it.
He mentioned that when Ireland was invaded, they were surprised to find that many households had a harp and many inhabitant were prolific in its use and also were very gifted in writing poetry.
It most likely had some truth in it as the coat of arms of Ireland has a harp in it. You may be aware of this already, I thought to mention it.
The Harp is the indeed the National symbol of Ireland and not the Shamrock as often thought, or the funnier misconception the Leprechaun
The most famous of these is the medievil harp Knowen as
Brian Boru's Harp.
It has been on our coinage since 1520 or there about in this form.
