Work/life balance
It's a popular subject these days. We look back to days of old; where we had our BBQs with family on weekends... the Sunday lunch... people over for coffee, slides nights... the list goes on.However, these days... we are now driven by the almighty dollar. Materialism plays a part in our life. Or for some, employment .... the workplace... simply fills a void in their lives.
Social networking also plays it's part in the equation. We no longer have to dress up, brush our hair, apply makeup... we can sit with our iPhones, our laptops, our desktops and mingle... interact and laugh. The drinks are even cheaper this way, we simply pour ourselves another wine.
Personally I believe we achieve that balance more readily when we have someone to go home to and lose time with... But for me, that's not the case... I come home to relax and lose myself in the solitude. Not a bad thing, except I am failing at that work/life balance.
Does anyone manage to achieve this balance? And ... if you do, can you give me the key to your secret?

Yesterday in one of those spare moments, I took my mother out for the day to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang... However, that meant I lost time for staring into the abyss and losing myself in refractions of time. I would not have it any other way though.
