If this is the case could it be the fact that you havent been upfront from the start that causes the problem?
Don't give up. just hang with us. Have some fun. Be the way you are and if people don't like it then just ignore them. I don't like some people attitudes on this site and I ignore. They probably have the same feelings about me, and they ignore me.
Don't be so defensive about things. Bad things happen and you have to learn to live with it.
I have been hurt deeply quiet a few times, but thats because i jump in head first and trust to fast, but thats me and if you try and be what you think someone wants you will never be happy, be yourself and love yourself first, to give a partner a whole person to love and not a broken one is so much better:-)
Look deep inside and look at yourself in the mirror and find the special you, the magic unique person you are and love who you are, its hard but every time you do it gets easier to see the beauty in you and thats what others will see:-)
So breath and explore you and enjoy your life, like is to short, fill it will beauty and happiness.
