A Request For Friendship.
How do you handle a friend request from a stranger if you are too tied up to handle more friends? It seems so abrupt and rude to decline it by the click of a button. Hamba, voetsek, Scram!
'Thank you, but no thank you' sounds so much better.When I get a flower, email or a friend request from a stranger, it can mean one or more of five things:
1. Somebody interested in chatting.
2. Somebody interested in a long distance relationship.
3. Somebody local with an interest in me.
4. Hate mail.
5. A scammer.
I am only interested in the first kind. I have only a few friends and I don’t want a lot.
Like most people that I have contact with here on CS, I have surrounded myself by high walls in blocking all areas except my own country. So when I get a flower or a message from a stranger, it is easy to handle. I can reply with a polite message to decline their attentions without being rude. If she persists, then I know it is a scammer!
With other countries it is a bit more difficult. As I block flowers and messages from them, the first contact comes as a friend request. My first action is to look at the profile and when I want to write a little note to decline it politely, I’m blocked more than often.
Oh, how I wish I could include a flower when I decline a friendship request. Just to say: ‘Hi girl, I’m flattered by it, but…’
I have such a friend request now. She looks genuine enough and I can see we have a lot in common, but…
So girl, if you read this and recognise yourself here, Thank you, I am truly flattered. It is not that I don't like you; my hands are full at the moment!

Just to clear up a small misunderstanding. I'm talking about strangers here, Aisha. You can hardly be described as a stranger. We have 'spoken' countless times.
Why have a lot of friends if you never in contact with one another. They only clutter your profile.
My contact list is short. Those are my friends. Granted, there are two or three I don’t chat with regularly in private, because we talk in the blogs, but I know that the channel is there when I want to talk to him privately.

I have blocked all friend requests. As this is a dating site, I believe that having "friends" on your Profile gives people preconceptions about what you are interested in, in another person.
The truth might be that someone is my friend because they are capable of scintillating conversations, or they have delightful manners... or they make me think. This does not necessarily mean I am bonking them, nor wish to. So rather than allow others to form preconceptions, I just block this feature.
Manners really do count and I applaud you for trying to let this person walk away realising it's not personal.
The people you know are different. We get to know each other through the blogs; you quickly decide who you want to be friends with; even tough you do not always share an opinion. Strangers are different; you don't know them!
I'd never decline a friendship with somebody I know to to favourably dispensed towards me.
People are here on CS for many different reasons. My reasons for being here might be completely different from you or the next person. The main thing is to enjoy what you are doing.
People (all of us) are quick to form pre-conceptions.

They are collecting friends. One of the things I look for in their profiles. Those I ignore.
Just when I think it is dead, then I get another email!!
Something else just struck me. Yesterday, after I wrote this blog, I received another friend request. On her profile she displayed her vital parts from every angle and elevation. Including an 'in-depth' look.
I reported her profile. This morning I see she is still with us, but the funny pics had been removed. A complete different body build.
I hope she does not think this is about her!
If I wanted that I would have been with Grannynaai dot com.
Maybe she followed me here from there!
It might have been a one way ticket; or extended leave of absence at the best!
