Stay Single

Many people prefer to stay single after living a hard experience in a marriage. What I see is that men prefer to stay single but women prefer to get married again in spite of the risk. What is your opinion? Does it depend on the country or culture?

well after 13 relationships I'm still single , if you realy loved one of them you will find it can take 5 years to get over emotional hurt ....but women carn't wait that long and will enter into another relationship in less than 3 hours with baggage by the ton to off load on the net poor guy who say's yes to them

if you really do have trust issues perhaps a dating site is not the best place 4u to be

but you cannot build on tomorrow's possible happiness if you keep dwelling with fears that came about from the sadness that once was in yesterday.. what people do or don't do mainly comes about because of the type of people we meet long the way.. hopefully you'll find that trust worthy one and she'll take you in that right direction.. such a road to happiness does exist, good luck to you in your search

I don't think this is gender specific as you mentioned it before.

Some people want to move on with their lives and have a relationship again, others just don't.

Not really depending on country or culture. I know of a 70's Jwoman who never remarried after her husband died. She devoted her life to raising her children thru college and tilling the land. Old and very bent she is. She just stopped rice farming last year but she still continues planting veggies for their own consumption. Never drives. Only bicycle and small motorbike. To think she looks like a looker in her younger yrs. Women who can't stand on their own and who feels they need somebody to provide and protect them might really do what you're saying. As for me, broken trust is something hard to mend. Maybe love could but it would take time and destiny perhaps.

Seriously,women wants to stay single becos we are very emotional being we want someone who would cuddle and share our problems,culture?yeah but it can be fix if both parties are willing to adjust for each others,in some cases women wants to stay single depend on their past relationships,responsibilities in life,environment and financial status,men dont stay single they still mingle in diff.way

It doesn't depends on cultures/counties. In some countries, women are more likely to stay single while men feel the need to get someone new to fulfill their loneliness.

As a woman who chose her single life and really enjoy life without a man "drawling" over her, I live a very good life on my own. My only regret is that as a single I have to pay the same as a couple, so in fact I pay twice... This hunts me, but does not enough to make me want another man. I live in Norway and have several reasons to be single, and there I is a lot of us in Norway, single woman, and single men... and the men end up taking a Asiatic girl as a wife...

I feel fine, and have no regrets being a single, I really enjoy it.

It has nothing to do with gender. You get needy people who can't stand to be alone and not needy people who are happy with or without someone special in their lives. Where I live both men and women are mostly needy. Most of them have been married 3 times or more. The few ones who are single want it that way or are just waiting for some couple to break up so they can grab the man or the woman. They will even try to break couples up in order to get a mate. That is why I am single as I don't want to be part of that circus.

@single I spent about 20 dating years single, kissed lots of frogs, then married a Princess when I found one, and for 18 years was HAPPILY married. Much, much sympathy for those who made bad choices as spouses (many hooked up permanently while way too young IMO). Now I am single again and resigned to another decade of kissing frogs. Sigh. Having been on both sides of the fence I can say both sides have advantages and the single side has more disadvantages than does the happily married side. However, I concede being UNhappily married doesn't sound like it is any fun at all.
