Almost A Year..
It is almost a year since I joined CS, and I think it is time to reflect on that. It was also my first venture into cyber-world. I had never joined a dating site/chat room etc., and as it was one of my New Year's Resolutions, it had to be done! When I first landed into the site I felt like I was alone in a big empty room. I knew there were people in there somewhere, just didn't know where! Eventually, I found my way into the Chatroom. I had never seen anything like it before. Scary, exciting, funny, rude, hilarious, intelligent, humorous, global, local, males, females, all ages..all chatting and fighting and flirting together at the speed of light. I became an addict.
CS Chat became my 2nd home. I used to rush home from work to chat with my new friends. I used it to practice my flirting. I had fun. I met really good people on there, several of whom I have met in real life. A group of us are meeting up for a weekend again soon.
Disaster struck in Autumn. CS closed the Chatroom. They promised a new-improved version would be opened again, in springtime. We are still hoping, but not holding our breaths. What was I to do now? I was still in touch with my Chat friends, but missed the rush, and all the new people constantly coming in. I was still getting emails, so I decided to maybe concentrate on that.
Then I started to peek into the forums occasionally. For some reason, there was always bad blood/competition between forum-users and chat-users. It seems stupid to me. People are people. Forums just seem like a slow-motion version of chat to me. Much much slower..lol. I was still not brave enough to post on the forums, but decided that in 2014 I would. I have made a few comments, but this is my first blog. And god, I realise already it is wayyyy too long. Sorry! Next one will be shorter I swear.
As for dating and friendship..as I said, I have made good friends through Chat, and mail, both home and abroad. I have gone out on coffee dates with some nice men, and went out with one lovely man. It didn't work out unfortunately, but I know now that what I like, and fancy, is actually out there...they exist
All in all, CS has been a good thing for me. It has given me confidence in real life, helped me hone my flirting skills, and as I say, helped me to meet some really good and nice people, both male and female. Here's to making even more!
Strangers are but friends we have yet to meet

Welcome aboard the good ship blogger
Nice Blog, I have seen the chat room referred to as the dungeon
I even went there once for about five mins. Man it was scary. I guess you need the typing skills for it.
Welcome to the blogs
I think Chat is like a good wine...an acquired taste..but worth it!
How many words a minute can you type
30 seconds wouldn't even get a hi, in the chat room
I felt like a fly on a wall after that Bzzzzzz
I too visited the chat rooms on a couple of occasions and like non and Zman found it daunting.
If you blinked you missed a hi or how you doing.
Blogs may be a tad slower but friends are here to be made as well.
Welcome to the blogs and hope you stay awhile.
I can type quickly enough I guess, but there were plenty of non-native English speakers who still got on great in there. People accepted typos etc., as long as it was legible. I was a disaster for typos, but the regulars could read through it, or laugh!
We had several of your compatriots from Vic and beyond on chat. Always good for a laugh!
Yeah Zman. Stay off the moors
has not been available for close to 4 years.
Why it still shows is anyones guess.
Your typing is getting very good too!
I hope you are having fun xx
Thanks for caring for my health
So it seems ..
I never was much of a cyclist myself.. lacking practice
It appears to be a sport that can be enjoyed by males and females alike
However, I would presume, as with most machinery, it works best when well oiled, tenderly cared for, and taken for a run regularly?
Don't worry, 'they' will be told nothing...
I thought it was lizard men who come from a parallel universe.
and aliens live in space. Or is that sooo 90's
