Redundant
So here I sit at my desk at work sipping a cup of coffee; the second for the day after the first at home. I will probably have another 5 or 6 before I sneak off home at lunch time.
After today I will have 11 more working days before taking retirement. I wonder if I should still count the last day.
My inbox is empty so there is nothing for me to do today. Redundant is my new post description. My old post is already filled and I’m just hanging around to stand in for anybody who is absent from work. I really hope somebody will have mercy on me today by being absent from work.
I could of course rearrange my office furniture but I’m a little restricted by the length of the telephone cord. Or maybe I can move the picture on the wall to another nail. That could keep me busy for about a minute or two.
Perhaps I should book off sick but I just came back to work beginning last month after being off sick for more than two years. No fun in that anymore.
But in about five hours I can be home again. It is so much nicer to do nothing at home in stead of here.
Eishhh! My coffee is getting cold.

I hope the problem with your car is not too serious. Without a car one can do nothing lately. But enjoy the day at home. Working is strict for those who cannot play golf.
So just count the days and your love is working so hard I heard.

Yes, I'm counting the days indeed. Some days I have something to do but days like today just won't go by.
Enjoy your nights rest. I will have to catch up on some sleeping during the afternoon as well.
No, I will not miss this office. They gave me the smallest and darkest office they could find. But then it is understandable. I'm just passing time until the end of the month. No lectures nothing. Just helping out if somebody cannot make it to work for some reason.
The 27 months of sick leave made me lazy. I do not want to be working any more but my sick leave ran out a very long time ago and technically I had been on unpaid leave for most the time; so I had to come back to work for two months to be reinstated properly. Some technicality with the pension fund.
That is very much in the line of what I'm planning; only there won't be any mountains nearby. But the close proximity of the sea will more than compensate for that.
Unfortunately, by retiring your getting paid to surf the net will be over.
But I understand the value of being home. You can surf while having a beer, eat, fall asleep in front of the screen or scream a in fit of madness while reading the posts on CS.
