Where is Heaven located?
Do you think that "heaven" is, literally, a place somewhere in the sky (or clouds)? Our astronauts have been to "outer space". We have giant telescopes with which we can see planets and stars light-years away. Up to now, no one has reported any "heavenly sightings". Where is heaven situated, really? Background
I posted this as a comment to a blog that mentioned heaven but I never received a response from the blog "poster", even though I reminded the poster of it in a subsequent blog.
Does the idea of heaven, if you accept the existence of such, extend beyond that of a physical place?
If it is not a physical place, what is it?
What do you think?

I have been reading and also hearing recently on tv that there are other universes that exist. Some claim these universes exist in different dimensions. These dimensions exist along side the dimension we are currently in.
It is like the spirit world. It is often said that we, at any given time, have spirits all around us. The only thing is, they are in another dimension. When people claim to have seen spirits, it is either they were able to cross into the other dimension for a small amount of time or the spirits were able to cross into our dimension for some given time.
So to answer your question, yes I do believe heaven exist. Probably not in the sense that we think of it, as with a physical gate we have to walk through. But, as a dimension we have to cross into.
That is what I think.
Thanks for the thought provoking blog. I cannot wait to see what others think.
simply a concept of your mind
Hi Virgo... I miss you yaa....
I agree with Johny here.
"Heaven" or the Spirit world resides in another dimension. But the veil between the "visible" and the "invisible" world becoming thinner, more and more people are able to get a glimpse into the other side...
And for those who are not able to see this yet, there are methods to access these other dimensions, as you are already aware of...
I quiet walk in the forest bare footed litening to all is my heaven.
Or to see the smile and happiness in a face coming through a storm is heaven flowing back to me.
I suppose everyones heaven is personal to them.
sometimes I look up to the heavens to see the birds fly
If heaven exists I think it is a different dimention but I think this place heaven may be more a state of mind...acceptance and happiness...
Not only is Heaven a place we go to when we die, which is another dimension, or another plane of existence..
But, when we are alive, it is a state of mind, a state of happiness that we find within ourselves and all around us...
Up to this point, there are three main areas identified:
(1) a positive feeling, emotion or mood (mainly happiness), associated with the heart(and mind), including pleasant memories
(2) a concept or idea (thought),
associated with the mind(intellect)
(3) another dimension,
associated with some other universe
Minerva's comment combines (1) and (3):
"Not only is Heaven a place we go to when we die, which is another dimension, or another plane of existence..
But, when we are alive, it is a state of mind, a state of happiness that we find within ourselves and all around us..."
I recall a children's song on happiness:
"The time to be happy is NOW
and the place to be happy is HERE
and the way to be happy is to MAKE SOMEONE HAPPY
and we'll have a little HEAVEN down HERE"
This ties in well with virgo's comment:
"I think earth ....this world we live on is heaven ..."
I am still wondering, though, if there is anyone who thinks it is a physical place, located in the sky or clouds.
I am glad you brought up "hell". I should have included that. I thought of it afterwards.
Where is "hell" situated?
One is said to go up to heaven and down into hell.
Go down to where?
Please tell us!
for me, heaven is right now;
it's found within;
it's only known absent of mind;
it's a state of Being;
and in that state we truly know ourselves as we really are,
... as both Love and Joy
i don’t believe Heaven and Hell are located anywhere, per se, as they are states of the “mind, conscious - caleed them soul”. Heaven and Hell are not an eternity in the sense of linear time.
Heaven is "with" us. Hell is "apart" from us – what makes humans unique. I accept any theory, as its s question of beliefs… if that theory does “live” in heaven - accepting that we don’t have an answer for most of questions we have.. and dont not impose any.
live in Heaven.
Thanks for your unique message re heaven:
a state in which we truly know ourselves as we really are,
... as both Love and Joy
A very powerful message indeed!
Please go easy on others. I do not think it is fair to refer to those people as "gullible idiots".
Yes, those are the words of Jesus himself: Luke 17:21, signifying
Heaven is an "internal state".
Thanks for your comment. It blends well with those of beautifulyou and Calliopesgirl, and is similar to the view of the majority.
"The creator invites those who are worthy to join him as one."
Where?
There is no "where" as to heaven.
How does one "think in spiritual terms"?
Please explain for the benefit of someone who lacks your level of intelligence.
Rather than a mere state of mind, I believe heaven is a real place. Jesus used the word "place" three times in regards, to heaven in John 14:2-4. He taught us to pray to "our Father in heaven," and that His will would be done "on earth as it is in heaven (Matthew 6:9-10).
As for where heaven is located, I believe that heaven is in an entirely different physical dimension. For Jesus seemed to step in and out of this space-time dimension when He was in His resurrection body (Luke 24:31; John 20:26). Hope you find this helpful.
God bless!
Can your mind contemplate that? Can you grasp the concept of forever?
Like the ant looking up at the university professor looking down at him, the ant cannot understand the professors mind. Accept rather than attempt to comprehend, as not doing so is a waste of your time on this earth.
Why feed the mind while all the while starving the spirit?
Please cool yourself!
I never raised any issue about the nature of God in this blog so your remarks about "creator" and "forever" are uncalled for. The same applies to the "ant" and the "professor", and "my wasting my time on this earth".
I simply asked "Where is Heaven located?". I think most people understood, including my good Christian friend, Serendipity, for whom I have the utmost respect, and responded accordingly.
James 4:6 ESV
But he gives more grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
Proverbs 16:18 ESV
Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.
Proverbs 15:1 ESV
A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
Matthew 5:5 ESV
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Have a good day!
Greetings!
I agree that your answer that heaven is a real place reflects what is stated in the Bible.
This is in direct contrast to GD666 who stated:
There is no "where" as to heaven.
Acts 1:9-11 (NKJV) - (Jesus Ascends to Heaven)
9 Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.
10 And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel,
11 who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”
According to these verses, heaven is somewhere "up there"(external) in the sky.
There is no indication of a different physical dimension.
Luke 17:21 (KJV)
Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.
According to this verse, if the kingdom of God is heaven, then heaven is within a person(internal).
Is Heaven both internal and external to a person?
Keep Well, my friend!
