Torture and Sufferings, Perpetrators and victims

Let's face it, life is full of mysteries. Full of questions that are so beyond human mind to satisfactorily find an answer. Full of dark elements it is sometimes so impossible to accept and understand. Humanity is beset with imperfections. Our comprehension is so limited and sometimes I call these inhuman acts, the works of the devil. We do things that sometimes challenge our moral and ethical values. Some are mild and some are just horrendous. In example, the Holocaust, Mai Lai Massacres, Slaughters of people from Africa, Genocide from Serbia. Not to mention the many atrocities and brutalities committed against humanity through wars.

This is not the main point of this blog. Rather the examination of conscience and understanding why man can possibly inflict harm and injury to others. So mutilating and so inhuman. The worst part is that these acts are done by unsuspecting, normal people, whom we trust around us and in the end, it is such a difficult process to bring them to justice of their being so sly and so believable in their lies. And, they do everything to claim their innocence making our justice system waste and spend a lot of money, energy and resources just to prove them guilty.

I just watched a movie based on actual events, FROZEN GROUND. It is about the commission of a very heinous crimes involving rape, torture and murder of 24 women. The perpetrator lied for as long as he could to the authorities and it took a great deal of time and money for the authority to prove his case. The worse part is that he led a very religious, very stable job, with family and children, and one would never ever suspect his capacity to commit such an evil act. Eventually he confessed and recovered 11 out of 17 bodies and marks as one of the worst crimes ever recorded in the State of Alaska.

In my state of mind, I can't help but wondering how can man be ever capable in conceiving this act let alone commit them? It was so difficult to witness such a mind boggling and heart wrenching story without truly asking so many questions that is so hard to answer. While I cried so much on the movie, 12 Years a Slave, this movie just made me feel so mad and so hurt for the victims.

Any opinions?

Thank you so much for your participation, contribution and opinion.

Hi Phyllis
I received a message from Skype..."you have unused Skype credit..you can use it today"....Can you guide me if you have any idea....or I exhaust it anyway???
I was so into those stories during that time Johnny. Remember the movie, Silence of the Lambs? Where he lures his victims so slyly and so innocently on unsuspecting victims?

I do agree with you, but what about those unsolved cases? But you are right, the percentage is of minimal number, I guess, at least to our knowledge..

Thank you

Hi Enigma, yes indeed, he was normal and very loving to his family. But the arrangement of the wife and the children go to the in laws, made it convenient for him because of his job schedule. it is committed in a span of 15 years Enigma and he was so clever. He knew exactly how to protect himself until one moment and the mistake was too much to ignore.

Thanks..
Okey KC, I guess you will create your profile first and then look for those in your addy.

I will mail you my user name right now..

Thanks. KC
KC can you mail me at my mail? I can't retrieve yours and I am sorry/

thanks..
is this a movie review ? wave
ok I try to trace yours.
And as UN observers you can only observe...and do nothing to help. Therefore you then feel responsible for those innocent peoples lives..something that never disappears. But even someone like me..who would rescue an injured animal in the street..is capable of murder. I wanted to shot so many men then, at the anger I saw those perpetrators commit. Then I could sleep at night. Knowing I'd prevented them from doing the same to more men, women and children.

Humans are full of love compassion..but also hate and evil. I remember once going to see a farm full of shire horses..some of the largest horses there are...yet these horses are so placid..I asked him how come these horses are to placid..his answer...because the ones that were not were shot years ago..thus destroying the gene..and after time you only get the soft placid ones you need to pull the ploughs in those times...true ? I'm not sure..but it if is there are many bad genes in us, that need to be eliminated.
Virgo but even more so. However in a movie review it is all about the context of the making of the movie and how it is being acted out. This is about the exposure of a real crimes that is beyond human comprehension to accept and understand.

So the question is: How can anyone, any human being, given all our progressive development of being good and kind and compassionate, commit such a heinous act?

It's Jeffrey Dahmer, lol. teddybear

Some people are born sociopaths. They lack empathy and normal feeling for others, making them incognizant or uncaring of the pain and suffering they are inflicting.
Well in line with that kind of thinking Ian, then how long will it take for man to be able to deflect and or isolate the bad genes in us, so that we can get rid of it and then we wont act this evil work anymore?

Why can't we fix it then if it is a matter of a biological and or genetic impairment?

I had a little bit of exposure at the UN when I was in Switzerland Ian, and yes, the UN is not a combative institution but only empowered to observe and then record the events to call for the members to act at a certain agenda covered within the provisions of its member's agreement. I really don't know how useful it is in the prevention of such a heinous crimes perpetrated by group of people or country. Beats the hell out of me Ian.

Thanks
Well if they are, then why do they lie when confronted?

Thanks
Why do they lie? Was that directed to me? Here is a great article that deals with understanding the sociopathic personality:

Calmheartseeks, yes I am aware of that, the question is, for a person to be so precise and so normal in carrying on their family life and yet when asked to be responsible of these acts, they lie? Isn't that just plain sly and clever? So calculating and so evil?

Why? even if they were sociopaths, what can we do to avoid them? Just tough luck then? Just be careful and if you are victimized, then what can we do then?

thanks
Thank you Calm yes, it was and I will try to pull that although I am already looking at Google..Has all the acts both on large and small or specific scale all committed by sociopaths? What makes them so? Or do we just label them to be categorized? And in doing so, is there a differentiation of the punishment meted to them as opposed to those who are not?

In the movie, there was not a medical pronouncement of him being a sociopath and went to jail for 500 years and incapable of pardon..

thanks again
I don't disagree with you at all Ian. The complexity of life in itself is way too much for an ordinary mind to understand. Yet if we do look at simple act of gratitude and or kindness and or compassion, can't we learn and act upon it to be that? Being good?

Yes, it does come to a point where God is involved and I don't mind as long as it doesn't complicate even more.

I just read the many signs to watch for on being a sociopath and boy it gets so much of a character deficiency, specially on the selfishness, egotistic behavior, being needy, etc.etc..The question is, how can we avoid being at the path of a sociopath, or better yet, why can't they as soon as diagnosed be in a controlled environment, to avoid such a very cruel act?

But if what it takes is for all of us to be weeded out, boy that is a major social control IAN.

Much like the placid horses...would we have to apply such a radical move?

I am now even more confused Ian..
sociopath cf psychopath
common-both are anti-social personality disorders.
difference-psychopath leaning more towards heredity while sociopath towards environment.
conversing
Just pay attention to the behavior and activities. Easily identifiable. Intuition is one tool.
Easily recoverable too.
@ lindsyjones - In July 1212 Pope Innocent declared war upon the Moors (Iberian Muslims) living in southern Spain, Portugal and France because they refused to convert to the Roman Catholic religion..... It is estimated that over 100,000 Moors were slaughtered including women and children, so if a Pope can sanction such atricities why can't anyone else, eh...... very mad

Great post re: psychopaths.

I have a close relative who might be considered sociopathic. She had the same upbringing and familial background as those who react to others normally. However, for some reason, she enjoys causing others suffering and has alienated many because of it. She is also a pathological liar...meaning she will lie even if there is no cause for it.

How can we avoid meeting a sociopath? I don't know if we can.

teddybear
well......being in the land of the " gun " ...how many have you got ..?? enough to take over a country ...banana
That is the only way we can do KC? Is observe? Then why don't we have a very powerful and effective government programs to educate us on how to spot such people?

I don't know, KC and what do you mean, recoverable?
Madam Please its OUR (EARTHLY GODS) unjust creation! Why blame that innocent entity called God.
doh
Now Hans, that is outright wrong. For people to be slaughtered for conformity of religion? Had there been such a crime worst than that? But should that make anyone the right to do it? Han, then we have not progressed to what we claim as protection for the freedom of life, liberty and pursuit of happiness, but I am aware of the fact that just because these crimes had been committed all the more doesn't give anyone the right to kill anyone, Hans.

I hope..
laugh Wow. Lots of religion/God hate going on. And an awful lot of historical revisionism and context warping aswell. dancing
Thanks Calmheart, now since we can have a pretty much boxed characterization of such a trait and behavior, then isn't it our right to be protected from such an agression?

I am not sure, but just a question. On the movie that I mentioned, however, it is so cruel and so grotesque, that it is so hard to stomach such an act..
KC, I didn't mean to blame no one even our God..I am just wondering how can it be allowed to happen, that is all..

And that is because of our law that states, we are all innocent until proven guilty..

Thanks
talking of laws....where did any law originate from ?..the wealthy to control the poor ?...another topic for another blog..
Maddog, I don't think this is one of those religious and or God hating blog. And I am not steering it to that direction either. I think just because in our lack of understanding and comprehending these mysteries and human frailties, does come the question that perhaps only God can know? Ian, mentioned about his experience in the Serbia killings, where he himself can't understand yet killing was just that killing just because of ethnic cleansing..
Ian I am sorry about your spelling but truly if your computer is built and made for here in the States, it is inherent with the Z, which is American, while Australia or England, it is s, as it is English english.

On your removing a despot ruler to be replaced by another one, I guess it is built in with the job then? Who knows but you are very right, though, about the Western world who are seemingly responsible on installing the next head of the government.

The mechanics of manipulation to serve the interest of those who will soon install the head. It happened in Iran, remember?
Well at least in my country Ian, the Constitution of the US defined and enacted the laws primarily for the protection of the people, comprised of course by the majority deciding systems. Any laws later that is added and or created is passed on to the people for approval in local and or federal level. This is the application of the democratic system, therefore any law originates from the people.

Having said that, it is explicitly practiced that NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW... but of course, there is always a tinge of exception, but not as bad as non democratic country...
@ Ian - Our modern day christian laws originated from the Roman Catholic Church to protect the Monarchs and the wealthy, these laws are assumed laws just as they are today, no-one left the Earth and placed anyone in charge of other people, it is against universal law to imprison or punish another person, everyone is the boss of themselves.

The modern day police are there to protect businesses first of all and then the people in that order.... doh

Hans, yes I admit, in the old days for the establishment of religious opportunity and control, I know those were the very tool applied if only for the proliferation of the spread of Christianity in the world. And remember during those days, the GOVERNMENT OF MOST COUNTRIES WAS THAT OF THE RELIGIOUS INSTITUTIONS..

Progressive change is the radical separation of the Church and the State for political government.

Today, I am sure, there is no such act as allowed, yet almost all prominent wars were accounted for to be Religious Wars...I think..
On the one hand, KC, it is even more scary now, because of the presence of nuclear power and biochemical poison that can completely eliminate human life...Now there is more scary than the original main point of this blog, isn't it?
it is against universal law to imprison or punish another person, everyone is the boss of themselves.

Hmmmnn I don't quite understand this, Hans. There are so many suspected spies captured by other countries, from another and they have been in prison for a long time, before they are released.

So many reporters from the Middle East that has been in their captivity on the suspicion of spying. In fact, Julian Assange, the founder of Wikipedia, is still holed up in England? Isn't it? Because if he steps out of the embassy, he would be arrested and be brought to Sweden? Or something?

In my passport, it says, if you are arrested from another country, demand to see your consulate...whatever that means..
@ lindsyjones - Universal laws are the laws of nature, they are not man-made. Early civilization lived by these laws..... If a member of your tribe did wrong to another they were ostricised from that tribe and if not accepted by another they just had to survive or perish on their own against nature.

There would be no need for spies if Governments didn't continue to take control of another countries land and/or recourcesdeceive. Julian Assange should be treated as a hero for what he's done, for too long Governments have been deceiving it's own people in their quest for power. Are you aware of the dozens of brand new FEMA prisons that have been built or are still under construction in the US, are you aware of the hundreds of rail cars that have been built complete with shackles for transportation of humans in your country dunno

As for getting arested in another country there is little chance that your embassy can do anything to help you, depending on the country that you are held in...... doh

.......... cool hug wine
Yes of course hans, but let me ask you this, do you think Universal law as you presented would be effective today, considering how the government of each country is practice? Based on your definition of what Universal law is, and how it is applied, on the main point of my blog, how would you account such a commission of crime?
