To all native english speaking, please advice
Dear all,I got annoyed every time I got a long message without comma or full stop. Not only because it is not comfortable to read (or I am basically annoyed because I am a writer/editor) but because I notice scammers do that. Or even he is not a scammer, I think a messy writing is a reflection of a messy way of thinking, don't you think? But then again, I am not native, so I wanna ask native english speaking, do you think it is important to write properly, or because you speak english in a daily basic when you write you don't pay attention anymore whether you write properly or not (comma, full stop, spelling).
Please advice.

Bad spelling especially annoys me.
Everybody has access to some form of spell-check.
I tend not to bother reading badly written emails.
Life is too short
Hye, yure hose is on fyirs. Sorry, but it makes the point.
Now, I just spit it out!!
As you probably know, there is a difference between spoken English and written English. My writing style on CS is closer to the way I speak than the way correct English should be written.
It is a little challenging. Some may be native English speakers but weren't good students so don't have good language skills. Some allow themselves to be lazy in order to type more quickly. Some, like myself, are aware of correct use (mostly ) but choose to write in a more conversational manner... using pauses (I like "..." for this)... and partial sentences. Often, in a conversation, an incomplete sentence is used... with the rest of the sentence being implied (so it doesn't need to be spoken).
There are several here who are like yourself, writers or teachers of language ... people who are aware of correct structure ... I try to keep that in mind. I also try to think about all those who are non-native English speakers, like yourself. I don't want to show a bad example but I also try to focus more on communicating clearly than communicating correctly.
I write e-mail for work in a similar style. I find it works well.
I agree with your thought... "messy writing is a reflection of a messy way of thinking". I think our communication style reflects the way we think... it also provides information about our personality.
Canada is also! In North America. So I think! Then that includes you too....I think!.. " You speak english, better than i do,um!
I am of mixed race. Creole & Native American Indian. (Parents) I speak no other languages. Just english only, Oh! And a little spanish!.....Now what?
I notice that too with many people. No, an English teacher would have a cow if they saw improper writing like what you mention.
When I come across a blog or comment like that I just ignore it and move on!
Yet, with that attatude you limit your self.
What ever!
Let's eat Grandma!
Let's eat, Grandma!
Punctuation saves lives!
I tend to write as I would if I was speaking to a friend on a blog, casual English I think. I guess I do not worry too much about getting everything right, which doesn`t mean that I don`t know how to. Think maybe I am a little lazy like a previous comment said.
I think for me it is more important the sincerity of what someone says rather than that they have written good English as in, grammar etc. But then I am just a Yorkshire girl from England
I know right!
At least We should be really-trying, hard,......
I am more interested in what a person has written than in the commas or fullstops.
If I was replying to an email from a guy for the first time I would be more aware I think. Blogs I feel are a little different as I do feel that we are for the most part amongst people who we like and like us and take us .. warts an all.. so to speak.
Does that make sense to anyone?
And I'm a foreigner
.....
You betcha, i don't......
Or a perfect teacher.
Anyway, I don't expect a perfect grammar or punctuation, just a simple comma or full stop, to make it easier for me to read. I run out of breath reading long messages all on one sentence lol
I'm not native either, but I try to write a proper sentence. I mean it's one way to respect one I send message to. And this is a dating site, aren't you suppose to make effort to get one's attention? So don't rush, spend time thinking what you want to write, read again before sending it, well unless it's a generic message you send to tons of people lol
Have a good day everyone, gotta get back to work again. A month from now we're having a big holiday and usually before that people in creative industry like me will have to work double as when it is holiday season, TV still on and their program must be produced before everyone taking holiday.
Namaste.
P.S Also, it's your heart that matters and as long as I know you're brainy up there, it does not matter that your spelling is bad.
I write from the heart, quickly, lots of typhos, if I have to start saying to myself 'did Is spell that correctly ? is that the correct format, should the semi colon be there or not ? No No No, I have left school and this site if for entertainment, fun and getting to know people and not a School of English.
I would hate to see people put off blogging because of their feeeling of inadequacy about their command of the written word in English. As Ive already said. English [as spoken by the majority here in the USA is totally different than UK/Ireland, we use completely different words That's a barrier in itself....
Let's be laid back and not be pedantic and purist. It wouldnt serve the blogs or sense of fun well. [no apologies for any grammatical errors or typhos ]
But! Luke, I have all those devices in my house. And i uses all of them on cs website.
