exercise the right to vote

A privilege is to drive, a right is to vote, and freedom is to obey the laws.

I sent my vote the other day. After I received it last week, I had to study every questions, know every candidate to make sure that my vote will represent what I believe to be consistent with my values and my principles.

I am a democrat, always have been and perhaps for a very long time but recently, my candidate and my representation seem to have been distorted in terms of the constitution and my principles.

I don't have to go into details as to my disappointments and frustrations on how the present leadership has transformed my trust and confidence into an array of disillusions and frustrations.

And the worst part is that, it seems there is nothing I can do about it now than to accept the way it is and wait until the term is over. Grrr... how terribly disappointing that is.

So the point of this blog is that I had to study every questions that were asked if I would have to agree and or disagree.

One particular question that was asked of me in the ballot is that "DOCTORS SHOULD BE SUBJECT TO SCREENING FOR DRUGS OR ILLEGAL SUBSTANCE" before they start their duty.

Why? Hmmnn let me see, so if they are held incompetent and or lacking of full attention to the execution of their job, they would be liable for violation of law and therefore lost their freedom?

Like killing their patient due to influence of illegal substance? I wonder how many were found dead or damaged because of such a lack of practice? I thought of so many questions after reading this.

Anyways, It is a right to vote and I know damn well how much my voice will be heard? Really?

I know it is a privilege to drive and can be revoked anytime I am questionably a hazard to other motorist. They will yank your license anytime the authorities want to.

What about freedom? Hmmmnn you have to obey the laws so us not to go to jail, unless of course you are not caught and there is not enough evidence to convict you.

PLEASE GO AND CAST YOUR VOTE? thanks all for your reads and comment.

Note: DO YOU BELIEVE YOUR VOTE COUNTS? IF NOT WHY? Does your country believe in election? Would you recommend if it weren't practicing it?

Thanks again.

Have a nice day/evening/night to everyone.

I often think that if voting was a privilege then more people would value the vote and take a proper interest in politics. Sure, many people say politics is a sham and therefore don't take an interest, but imo this is taking the effect and making it the cause.
Obs wow, for the first time I read you as the first to come in my blog. An honor of course.

I never thought of it that way, but you think it's possible? I mean to implement it as a privileged? Can you imagine treating it with a fleeting chance to be revoked anytime? Assignment of those privileges seems even more complicated Obs.
I am with Heinlein. I believe citizenship should be earned, not given at birth. But look how much my vote (and his) has counted on that. Sadly, not too much.
If earned Ken, how does it differ?
it should have read should

Should have been for my beautiful friend KN. How nice to see your picture up again. I am still mulling the idea of Love K, a most truthful picture of our dwindling administration. Thanks for sharing your thoughts my friend. sad flower
Hi Phyllis, wave I think there are a lot of people who aren't even willing to give love a chance which is a shame and it brings heartaches to the ones who do. sad
Oh I believe alright KN my friend. And I will not give up on humanity. No matter how hard and bad it looks, there's always a hope. I am a hopeful person.
I agree with you my friend. As flawed as it is, I believe our system is still one of the best in the world.
Thanks my friend.

thumbs up
Lolve is perpetual, it always moves to another in the game of chess called life cheers

One thing that is not for sure, is our freedom, as alienable as one would dream, Rome eventually became extinct, as we head down the same road as they did...HISTORY ALWAYS REPEATS ITSELF drinking
Thanks Lou my friend.

@Love, indeed love is an entity that
moves from one to the next. Depending on how we nourish that love it can last for a very long or short time.

On the freedom, yes we can only know what is now.

ROME, that is one part of history that will not be forgotten.
wave Yes, I've been getting a lot of voting ads in the mail these last few weeks, but I decided not to even get involved anymore. None of the representatives that are running represent my values and I'm not an "issues" voter. The entire system is so corrupt that I find voting a waste of time. With redistricting and the superfluous representational system, it no longer makes sense to vote. It is a "freedom" that I gladly give up in exchange for the freedom of privacy. Cheers wave
I hear you Nidi, looks like it's so out of our reach at the moment but they are reporting our economy is the only one that went up by 3 percent while the whole world sunk.

That's good news don't you think?
Obs what a great idea. Logical and practical. It's, a benefit and reward equated from a labor earned points. I completely concur in this direction. First of all it requires a positive and collective purpose for the benefit of the group or society. Earned points means a contribution that streamline social services. You contribute first then reward and benefits come. And so is the responsibility.

Much like JOHN GALT and the creation of the society. Nothing is free. Everyone needs to produce.

Have you read the book of Any Rand?

The most representation of a society that encourages the function of labor and productivity in order to sustain a good society.

Please let me know Obs if you agree?
Nidi it's very tempting to completely agree with you my friend. Scenario of the world I can picture at the moment is from the 5 per centers. Bill Gates, Walmart, Trumps and the control of the world economy is of no question, in our country. Be as it is, our economy is strong and we, the people, in comparison to the world are but in the upper echelon of the whole humanity. Please do travel and look at reality of the 80 percent of the world. Almost all flights are encompassing our country. The rest are the 20 percent rich of the world. I'm looking at the general public which is the 60 percent of our population. WE'RE Not so bad in our economic, social and political lay out. Even as we're aware of its, evils. We can do better but I won't discredit our advantage of the world.
