Should the safety of our community be compromised?

There's a lawyer named Dan Gustafson who is responsible in filing a lawsuit against the State of Minnesota for these animalistic p*dophile who believe that they should be released from prison and live in normalcy despite factual findings that they're never going to get better.

What on earth is this all about? He cares for these hardcore scumbags and disregard the safety of our society?

How would you like to live near them?
frustrated

I don't know about you, but as long as there's no cure for these sick people, they should remain in jail. Do you agree? My taxes should be used for my peace of mind knowing they will not commit these heinous crimes again. help

Do you think that this lawyer would still choose to use his services if his daughter, mom, sister or wife got raped or worse molested by these scumbags? I bet he'd lock them to jail and rot and throw away the keys....you think? frustrated help devil very mad very mad

Sometimes these legal ethics lawyers really like to spend tax payers money!!...lol...basic rights are given to these criminals and when your crime is that heinous...you remain locked up period...considering the victim pays in years in regards to rehabilitation...or sometimes never recovers...castrating them (criminals) chemically is not 100% effective...I doubt we could afford to have them among the masses...parole is costly as well including the shear amount of police time just to keep tabs on them...
Ed you better check your neighborhood, it's amazing how close they're living around you.

When they commit again, should we, the victims sue the government then? For failing to protect us? Making us as pawns to their vicious crimes?
Lou that is an absolute disregard of our safety is what this lawyer is doing and after the money.

Should be wants...
holy sunset,

it is the judges and juries who make the decisions.

perhaps the jury is outsourced more and more in the USA by judges.
but in lawsuits you never know...

even an innocent may be found guilty, and that is the worst scenario.
but does a judge, jury or those who make the laws and those who vote for such politicians go to jail for that?
if a public prosecutor does not accuse someone, even if obviously guilty, there is no trial and the whole law and order system fails!
barf
Castration without anaesthetic.....grin
In this case Guadal's point is relevant.
We must be vigilant on these parasites and evil people Ken. frustrated
Now this is sick Ken, what are we paying them for and serve us so in effectively?

I was only reading about those already locked up in jail. I didn't realize there's quite a number who's guilty yet not even prosecuted due to the failures of these leeches. very mad
Jazz I wouldn't hesitate to do that and while doing it, show a video of the reenactment of his crime.
That's nothing he goes through compared to the pain and sorrow he caused. very mad frustrated
Hi Lindsy, as to me, if they are proven to be sick, they should be kept in mental hospitals rather than jail, with no sentence in years, but with test of their health, if proven not to get better, should not be ever released...
Aisha how nice of you to share me your opinion. I researched, and yes within the discretion and guidelines of their (system), there's a policy and procedures to be met while for the confinement.

Thanks for your vote. I'd definitely lock them forever.
Yes, I know how close they are. There are websites, as you know, that tell us where they are. I have known and seen only one. He was a customer at a trailer store I worked at.
Hi LJ, its all about money for some. Some even sell their soul for money and fame..uh oh wine
You're not going to believe how numerous they are in some cities Ed.
Luke indeed the lures of greed for money. Speaks on our actions Luke. Disgusting.
perhaps it would be better to tell more about these cases...

there was something similar here. the state had to pay compensation because some people were still imprisoned after years, though there was nothing said about "Sicherungsverwahrung".

who, but a lawyer would do this for a prisoner?
always two sides of a page.
though it is all so terrible.
Change is the key to resolve for the response to these inane practice Ken.
Imagine the load of the DA, and everyone. We must increase the numbers of workers to expedite time and put these people away from the public.
Track I'm with you. But if they were born with the defect, why can't we find a way to cure them?
That's my question.
I'm shocked my friend. Who the hell investigated the case? What have we become? For anyone to conclude a bizarre attitude of a three year old?
Lou my friend, there was no public outcry? very mad
lind
There was a public outcry and I believe they (people) wanted the judge to step down...but clearly some are living in lala land in regards to who to blame...sadly...

On which basis do you make these claims?

Given you've just indelibly and publicly accused a lawyer in writing, I do hope you have evidence which will stand up in court. laugh
I found this Linzy, but it doesn't appear to be particularly related to your OP. dunno
My OP questions, why would a lawyer find it of relevance to help criminals file a lawsuit against the government demanding treatment changes and to be released?
Yes, I have read Ken's post, twice now.
Jac, are you telling me that these 25 percent are not regarded in the release program? There's less than 50 percent of them out which is bigger than 25 percent, meaning they're releasing more than they should and the argument is because of lack of accommodation. So where is that on your question.

On the other hand, there's already an approved budget for the creation of facilities and manpower so as to keep them where they belong.

By the way let me first go and read your position because I'm not sure what are your points and questions relative to my post.
Maybe you are reading a different article or completely missed out the point of that is for them to be considered on released program. Will you please upload the whole article and let's scrutinize claim by claim?

I'm on a weekend trip and don't have the article at my hands as its, at home and I'll point out the whole context of my o.p. based on the lawyer's taking on this case?

Like I mentioned, I have read the other reports that are in the cases in other States.

What exactly are your questions on my post? Are you for or against these monsters being released when in fact study shows they should and must not?

Or you go back to my first blog semi related to this? The previous one?
I'm sorry Linzy, I thought I'd posted the link above.

To whom do you refer?

To which studies do you refer?
I pulled your link and can't find the article so I will upload the article myself from the paper.
WHY do I sense that you're questioning the credibility of the source of my opinion?
The way I understand the article is that there's some critical malpractice on the conduct of the Government on the release procedure of these criminals, in fact stating that there's a constitutional violation on their right, the exact words.
And, on top of that they're demanding for a better treatment? October which makes me wonder how they treated their victims?

On the other note, once you're a convicted criminal you lose almost all rights and privileges.
You find it out yourself specially those from the State of California.
So going back to my OP which is the safety of our community by not bringing back those supposedly rehabilitated, are you questioning that it's not a legitimate or important question to ask? Or do you not know that there are so many of them living in our community?

Is it wrong to assume that they will repeat it again? Or are you insinuating that I'm so stupid and ridiculous to ask this question? frustrated frustrated
And I NEVER said that there aren't those who got rehabilitated, because I'm sure there are many of them.
