Of course you get replies,your a woman.I'm pretty convinced this site is geared for women.As far as toning it down...Sorry i'm not the beat around the bush feminised man.I want a real relationship that involves actual communication.This expressing yourself first with text does not show who you really are.It really should be as simple as"Hi,i'm so and so give me a call so we can hear the actual tone and timber of each others voices.Theres already a profile section to describe oneself.

But to answer your question. No, it is mot a dating site. It is a connection site. For connecting to people in other countries. It is not capable of, or intended to be a dating site for local folks.

But to me, shouting about marriage smacks a little of desperation.

Marriage isn't something you find or meet on a site like this. You meet friends or partners, but thoughts of marriage is something that develops over time.

Many people, both male and female, are decent looking,artistic,smart,and have own house,job,car etc.

And yes, people have met and dated from this site.
