turning the other cheek

Embedded image from another site

I know this is a very saturated and over exposed discussion about the Charlie Hebdo case but this is a very interesting point of view.

I read the front page of the Pioneer Newspaper published last Sunday and it was a remarkable analysis on how Joe Soucheray the columnist, who likened his story on his experience with one of the rock and roll magazine.

In the Christian world, I remember being taught that if someone slaps you in the face, you should turn the other cheek for more slapping? I kind of said: REALLY????? Now of course, I know sometime, we can't always do that..It is in our human instinct to fight back. To retaliate, to protect ourselves. But yes, if only we can all be like Jesus, then there would be no more war. You think?

Anyway the gist of the story is that sure, no one deserves to die, specially for the practice of free speech and it shouldn't be, after all this is one of our prime provision accorded to be free.

The thing to me is, there is nothing that can trigger any of this, knowing very well that these people kill with or without reason.

TERRORIST- are here to agonize us, torrorize us with or without reason. We already know that. Why wait for some cause or reason to justify declaring war against them? Why don't we commit ourselves on identifying who they are, where they are and expunge them?

AFTER ALL IT'S EITHER THEM OR US, RIGHT? I

NOTE:I feel the sensitivity of the Paris fiasco has gone so deep on our minds. But more so on our emotions. Touching very deeply our core of religious beliefs, and somehow even our cultural ways of life. It is played out both ways where there is not an easy answer nor there is any clear solution on the matter.

First of all it is complicated on the fact that from all sides it has been dispersed into associating it with old religious institutions. Second, it has become over toned on political implications due to the SO CALLED FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION, and lastly, now here we are asking ourselves, who is our enemy?

Thanks all for your read and comments.

Every life matters.....We are here for a reason.

It would be a perfect world if each and everyone of us cares for Life.
Vivian, I'm not proclaiming I'm intelligent. In fact this has nothing to do with intelligence but more like awareness for learning.

The news, television, and all media is in the overdrive still, I just thought this is a very interesting point of view.
Ken my friend, I rather find you mellow on this. By the way I apologize on my reaction with your last comment. You know I respect you Ken.

By the way your last part, you think?
And yes I would definitely favor diffusing the damage it further cause, only I believe there's focal point on this report.
It is Darwin. 200 years from now there will only be one side left. It will probably be the side most willing and capable of eliminating the competition. One side will do what they wish or have to do and the other side will vanish. Time will tell which side it is.
Agreed with you Nidi. Specially on the collateral damage.
Beyond QUESTION Ken. SURVIVAL Of The fittest.
Molly, this phrase is not from me. But I'll get back with you.
Thanks Molly.
I agree with you Molly. Wholeheartedly. The ability to get to the bottom of the problem which is the direct or indirect result of desperation, will definitely raise the bar in understanding why all the energy and drive on killing.

But on the one hand, if we can truly claim that there are people just born to harm and terrorize others, then we have to stand on our ground of being vigilant. Hence my position on not employing this radical means of practicing freedom of speech if only to prove we have the right to express.

I am aware how the mechanics of politics are. The ability to set up, manipulate circumstances just to
suit their needs. Much like what you said, but I am sure these things that are happening can be sorted out one way or another. Or like Ken said, only the one that survives are those that eliminated the rest..frustrated

Sorry about the early posting..
Sista do yourself a favor. Google: Pioneer Newspaper and search for Joe Soucheray's column. This is not from me. I am merely putting out there my opinion regarding his write. Do you see the heading I posted from the paper?

That is exactly his words. If I remember right, Jesus said and quote: like I mentioned in my blog. turn the other cheek. What the columnist is saying is clear: OR DON'T YOU READ IT? HE SAYS, THE JIHADIST, CAN'T TURN THE OTHER CHEEK SO THEY KILLED????I DON'T SUPPOSE YOU ARE STUPID BUT YOU DON'T NEED FURTHER ELABORATION WHOSE CHEEK HE IS REFERRING TO? IF YOU CAN'T UNDERSTAND THEN THERE IS NOTHING I CAN EXPLAIN TO YOU.

On your double message, it is never a double message, you are convuluting my simple presentation to your twisted accounts. If you don't know where I stand at this, I can't further explain anything for you. Say anything you say and I will not respond, how is that.

And read all my comments again, and if still you don't get my position, it is not important. What is important is how you feel and say about it.
Well said Ed my friend. But then if we act like them, what good will it serve? And the price? No one is left alive. There's got to be a better way than killing and either them or us attitude Ed.

They have done a lot of ethnic cleansing in Eastern Europe Ed, and did it solve any problems?

I doubt.

But when we're pinned like you said, of course, I'd defend myself first.

What we need to avoid like Molly said is retribution, because then it will never ebd.

Understand that desperate need to kill.
EXACTLY!!!!!

What I'm wondering is where are the fighting men helping us whose countries have been sacked by these people. Yeah! It took us some time to react to 9/ll but when we did we did something. Now that ISIS was making big time threats we have taken it to them again. I know some countries are like that courageous woman whose airstrike sent a big message to ISIS. But where are the fighters?

In tonight's news a former Secret Service guy said President Obama was watching football during the Paris March. So? Is that a crime? I also believe he was keeping a heads up on the fighting our brave airmen and soldiers are doing to keep these mad men under control. What if these crazies pulled another crazy attempt because Obama was there? A rocket fired into this march from some distance MAY have been launched, as well.

Yes, I think we should have had someone there but even some of the participants were fighting with each other. For this one, I think he made the right choice.
No killing justified that I support other than through our capital punishment, which is done through litigious and judicious process. And only when we are asked to defend ourselves. Killing those satirist is not getting my support, nor killing anyone.

AZ far as your teaching of God to go to war, sorry I never learned that.
Sista, I am a little confused and maybe I misread something, from what you wrote I am reading that you think Lindsey is not a Christian... Did I read that right? I have always believed Lindsey to be a Christian and one born with a good heart and a love for God, mankind and goodness.
I feel that here She is torn as she is bewildered with the pain man inflicts upon Man... I do not think she would ever back down in the cause of truth and righteousness... In fact standing up at times for what she feels just has put her in the firing line.
I think there is some mis-understanding here. You are both good Christian women who love and serve God. We stand united in that.

Love to you both hug hug

These recent killings is an excuse to cause fear...the agenda completed and now what is the next move?...do we succumb to calling revenge on a religious institution or be smart enough to call it a cult...or terrorism?...I am not sure where to find all that believe in this ideology...that seems to be the biggest problem...where to start...
I glad I did not get involved with this blog with all the finger pointing going on, I felt a little sorry for you. I know you were just putting an issue out there for discussion and did not deserve what evolved. I am a little surprised of some the comments that were posted. It would be nice if our military could all come home and we could live in peace but that's not the world we live in. Enjoy your day Joe wave
Ken, I do agree with you on the expense we have to incur to go through a possibility of educating them. But it is what it is.

On the conflict and misunderstanding of some people on the matter of sensitive issues, there will always be those that can't find anything good we say to be of value to them. But it is alright, we have the freedom to express anything that needs to be sorted out, but for heaven sake if and when all you do is being negative, why even join the discussion so incessantly. Just to point out how some people's ideas are in opposition to what you believe in?

Anyways, thanks Ken as always for your valued contributions on things I wouldn't even know exists.

Although the availability of our search for answers are readily available is out there through Google, you do have all the time to share them and I am thankful just the same.
cheers
Joe, I am okay and thank you for your empathy but there are people truly that can't get it. They do everything to twist your mind. Did you notice how she particularly puts what I believe without reading the blog? And then on top of that she never read the other comments?

She must have a lot of hatred Joe and finds it pleasing to her to make me look stupid.

She is compelled to pull every move to do it by the lack of substance on her direction but I find it fascinating how she can twist everything.

I never deleted anybody's comment on all my writes and I am so feeling different that I am doing it now. She makes me feel so contrived and yet how she feigns her commitment to humanity is so baffling.

Thanks Joe. I am warm, would you believe it is 30 degrees and feel like 50? I am aclamated on this cold weather and I am doing good. Stay warm, too Joe.

Thanks again.
cheers
I went back and read VIVIAN AND HER CLAIM, that I've said about myself being intelligent? I've never claimed on any of my writes nor comment that I've ever claimed to be. After all, being intelligent is a gift and commitment for development for better understanding of humanity.
wave Hi Lind,

Very sorry to hear from you that you said that you don't being intelligent! Honestly to tell you I had a lot wishing you did get more intelligent than some person here on your blogs, really! frustrated

Hello Xuan, how are you?

Life is more than just intelligence Xuan. I am more into kindness, caring and compassion. Intelligence is good, it makes us better understand everything but bragging about it is not my style.

Thanks for your visit.
Don't mention it Lind, you're welcome.

Bragging about intelligence it is not your style?

Okay good that means you admit your intelligence in a style else, I can see.

Congratulation to you, and thanks to God.
I'd say just ignore it. There is no point in following her lead in beating a dead horse.
Xuan you're so lovely, I like your new picture, by the way. You're beautiful and thank you again.
Ken I'm so appalled at her insistence and I have no time for obnoxious argument Ken. Besides it's vexation to the spirit.

Thanks.
lind
it is pointless at arguing with someone who doesn't get it but i tried...politics are fair game for misunderstandings or disagreements...conversing
My friend let's put it this way: No matter how you or I or anybody sees it, doesn't make sense to her. She's making a very personal hate against me. Asking me to confess my belief is plain wrong. Telling me not to be a Christian is so judgmental. She seems so prejudice against me, so why bother. All her reading? Doesn't matter to me.

Thanks my friend.
