The Future

Thank you Ken for your well wishes for Earl and I. I left CS because I wanted to nuture friendships close to home and to take the time necessary to think through where our relationship is at. I believe we've taken it slow and steady. We started talking a year ago this month, March. We've emailed, IM'd, traveled to each other's homes to stay for a weekend and even Earl came for a week last Christmas 2006. We've also traveled together camping as well. We have collectively talked on the phone for many hours over this year getting to know each other as much as we possibly can. I am going up to New Hampshire for a week in April just after Easter Sunday, and he's coming down in May to go camping for Memorial Day Weekend. I will meet his youngest son in April for a brief time, and I will be meeting most of his immediate family in July when I go back up to New Hampshire for a week in July, July 4th week. Earl and I, as well as both of his sons will be camping with his immediate family to include his Mother who will be traveling from Florida just for this camping event that Earl's family does once a year. Then Earl's coming back down in September, Labor Day weekend to go camping again with me for a long weekend.

I'm saying all this, not because it's necessarily anyone's business, but to show that Long Distance Relationships can grow and blossom into Livetime commitments if two people are serious enough to give it the priority in their lives it deserves. We've had people to say, one of us should have gone ahead and moved by now. Earl and I both support each other in that we have not yet done that. It doesn't mean we Love each other any less, just that we are so serious about this being the right life decision for both of us, that we are willing to take the time necessary to watch our love for each other either grow or just stay at a friendship level.

Earl and I did discuss him possibly moving to NC in December. I Love Him Dearly and believe the additional 9 months until then will only help us to be even more sure about what we want out of this relationship. I believe Earl and I have both been through enough over the years in our previous marriage and his other relationships that we have been honest with each other about where we stand.

I can only hope that the other CS couples who battle this Long Distance Thing, can also get through the long nights of Loneliness, cause that still gets the best of me at times, but Earl, who I believe also misses me a lot, has been patient to listen to me when I needed to talk about missing our time together.
