AIN'T NO SUCH WORD AS AINT
I have always been told there is no such word as aint, so I typed in the word aint,the responds was did you mean the word ain't,,well I don't know I am asking you .So for now on when I say aint, I am going to have to add the ' to say it right.In the Wikipedia it says {Ain't is a contraction for am not,is not,are not,has not,and have not in the common English language. In some dialects ain't is also used as a contraction of do not, does not, and did not,}
In one way of saying it correctly they used this,{He ain't lazy, he just ain't got nothing to do}..I like that and will be sure to say this with the '.
So after saying all this do you have a interesting word for the day,,,

there aint, I mean ain't nothing like a blogger
When I went to school ain't was only found in comic books and we were not allowed to use the word in school. It was said to be American slang. I still mostly try to avoid the word but it slips into my writing from time to time when it sounds better than the the phrase that it represents.
The problem lies in the fact that when so many people use this word (especially in the Midwest and Southern areas of the U.S.), then, unfortunately, the dictionaries must "keep up" with what people are saying, and for this widespread usage reason alone, it ends up in the dictionary.
Another school of thought is that this harks back to Shakespearean times, and is just a carry-over from that era.
So....take your pick, but I prefer not to use this word....except when joking with someone and they know I know better.
