Are We Ready For a Woman Leader?

It is a little bit boring lately so I have to indulge in my favorite passtime. Reading and learning about how to make our world a better place.

As we are agonizing with global terrorism, I figured maybe it is time for us to look at the possibility of being run and led by a force with strength and finesse. With firm yet gentle hand. With sharp and bright mind but also equipped with compassion and maternal instinct.

In short a norturing ability to see growth and progress that sustains our ever volatile and ever changing world. A woman.

Correct me if I am wrong but is there a better option at the moment than to consider a female leader to steer our country to greatness?

Today we are both attacked from local and global agression of which mostly is based on religious dominance. We see the negative impact of our previous policies due to lack of transparency from our leaders. We seem to be swimming in the oblivion of ignorance. Worse our CONSTITUTION is run over and violated by current administration specially in the laws of immigration. But it seems there is nothing we can do. Or is there?

Would all this be solved if we had a woman president? Perhaps not, but the truth of the matter is that we do have many women from all points of the earth, from all points of time who has earned more glory than those of their male counterparts on their time.

I will enclose all of them for your perusal but just google WOMEN RULERS OF ALL TIME and you will be exposed to so many great women leaders that has proven their strength and resilience, character and integrity, power and force to glory.

Want to challenge me? Go ahead be my guest.

Thank you all for your contributions, oppositions, and or opinions.

Woman Leader? Not enough Pizza...

No. Nay. Never. It'll never happen.

Hi lindsyjones,

What's gender got to do with leadership?

The fact is, men assume they rule the world... The good women behind them leave them to it!!!
Golda Meir, Albright, Ghandi, Nefertiti, what do you think of them?
Hi Ordenado, my first time to read you. Thanks for your cynicism. But I want you to reconsider it, what do we have to lose?
Lindsy..You forgot to mention "Boutica"...She was a woman too............... detective
Wow Nam what a great information you gave me there. I would have never even known her greatness. See Nam? I am learning a lot, thanks.
..........tip hat .....................detective
Sorry if you think I'm cynical!! Maybe that's just seeing things as they really are and not looking through rose-tinted glasses?

So, women are in power in worldwide governments, is anything really going to change? I don't think so.
Thanks Nam, do I get the feeling that you favor the idea of us having a woman leader?

wine
Well at least if you think nothing will change then wouldn't you agree then? That at least give us a chance to make it?

After all if you read all the women that ruled their kingdom during their time, it proved to the cynics that they were wrong?

All I am saying is that we have been for the most part ruled by these not so desirable leaders and why not try then?
Lindsy ..my answer to that is quite simple.....A politician is a Politician...............detective
A man on a horse, is full of discourse!!
Then its the Man in Red..........Instead.........detective
A woman leader won't do any worst than some of the men leaders we had so far
I hear you Nam... A good man may be tainted and shaped by the rules of politics and so no matter how good you are at the precepts, you will be power hungry in its clutch of which you become powerless...so yes in a way... A politician is a politician...But at least can we give a try for a woman?
Track I like that kind of thinking, a most fitting description that falls on the trail of repetitive failure..
Lin, I believe women are part of the problem. They certainly have enough voting power (at least in the USA) to make a try for it. But many woman are prejudiced against their own gender...they are their own enemy, so to speak. sad flower

This was true also in the fight for women's rights. There were women against it. Many women still believe that men should dominate.

Very sadly, old prejudices and silly, hurtful and just plain wrong stereotypes die hard. We see this in other injustices as well. And that's why women need a sisterhood...in the brotherhood of man. hug handshake
By the way, one of my relatives didn't want a woman president. It's like she imagined she would need physical strength in case of a war. The prejudice made no sense...yet it was there. laugh teddybear
Calm I do understand, the weight of all that is pure ignorance. I can imagine the percentage of those that account stereotyping as the key to failure. Only because, as you said, they feel too intimidated and would much rather be led by an overbearing male leader than a gentle endearing woman.

I remember the devastating results of Women's Rights being pushed to the edge except for the First world, a most character that still suffers from the degrading treatment of most men. Awareness is the key. Education is the light that enlightens the darkness of ignorance. If only the women of today like you said would join hands and give all that voting power like you said, there would be no doubt, we'll make it. But we have to push it and make our weight count.

Thanks, been a while since I last read you. Nice to see you back.
lind
Although women running the show would be a great relief...I wonder if the current political problems regarding ISIL would be problematic for women as leaders?...would we as a nation be largely ignored?...
Well it can become dichotomous my friend. Either way we have to at least give it a try. Sometimes the best and greatest anti defeat is not in the battle itself but in the strategic planning behind the call of a physical strength.

Now a display of colossal power in terms of defense is a plus coupled with a critical ability to adapt a counter move over a perilous attack.

Remember Pearl Harbor? The Blitzkreig attack? It almost crippled us, a lesson that shouldn't ever foreshadow our position.

Women sometimes has a better intuitive ability, IMHO.
lind
Yes...true...women have intuition...perhaps this may work towards a better outcome...wine
YES! we had Margaret Thatcher, and in my opinion she sorted out those weedy weak men at the time, yes she made enemies, but only those lazy good for nothing, I don't like change types.
Yes the Iron Lady...ahead of her time...
My thoughts are that we need a diverse mix of people to have a voice in our politics...not just grey haired men who may not understand youth, people from different ethnic/socioeconomic backgrounds and women in particular...if they are not invested in the interests of all people...how can they make wise decisions?...
The next POTUS will be either Hillary Clinton or Elizabeth Warren!!
Yes my dear Lou. We clamor for a change that sustain a balanced and fair representation.

We do need to know and I am leaning towards a womanly direction.
Either of them would work for me Ed.

Thanks.
As mentioned earlier the UK had Margaret Thatcher, don't recall her having " compassion and maternal instinct " uh oh more like iron fist in boxing glove rolling on the floor laughing you could love her or hate her, but normally a bit a both at the same time laugh wine
Z I believe a true leader is someone who can use any means and ways to control and steer the nation based on its needs. It is and effort to fulfill that which call for control whatever that maybe.

More like Obama now who is acting like a wimp from general opinion for being so soft on the response to terrorism.

I remember England during that time was going through a lot of tough times both on their foreign and local economic control. Now whether it led her to be such an Iron lady, I think, it is most fitting on how she carried out her responsibilities.

Sometimes you have to to act tough to get things done which is exactly what she did.

I remember California during Davis as the Governor, boy didn't he get so much ruthless criticism for being such a weak leader.
LJ,

Maybe a woman as pres. could change some things that need to be changed in the US. But nooooo, definitely not Hillary Clinton or Elizabeth Warren! They are way to liberal for this country! Look what obama has done in 6 yrs?

Need to elect a middle of the road woman for pres!thumbs up JMO
Okay my friend, I will keep an eye for that suited woman on this critical and most crucial representation of our constitutional values.

I was thinking for Hillary, she wont steer us much to neglecting that which Obama has done so good. Rather it would serve her the effective and well thought of policies that thwarted our true and deep American Values. I hope.
Can't argue with this blog.thumbs up But hey! I only ever talk about this stuff when I am face to face with my friends, I do like a good debate, we can have differing opinions but we never fall out.
Titania, these things aren't sensitive need to know basis discussion. In fact the more open we are, the better our chances to unite and fight for the good of many.

So go on ahead and argue.
The best person should get the job regardless of gender I think. conversing
Stringman, I agree with you. Why can't we all see the benefit of believing and good at the same time?
K in an ideal world yes, but it is a very upsetting situation where the one we think is good eventually proves wrong. That's why I have a feeling if we elect a woman.
lj!

O know you don't mind if we "hijack" but I just want to acknowledge you because your a sweetie!

@ stringman!

Those have been my thoughts for a long long time. I think God is very angry with us I pray we change our ways and soon.
Not a problem my dear Ed. Your thinking along with Stringman is seconded by me.

Thanks my friend.
We've already had a woman leader and she stole milk from schoolchildren - quite literally.

And then there's Merkel in Germany and France with Marine Le Pen and her good chance of taking the helm one day. The question that stands out to me is why is the Left so lacking in female political talent when that position includes so much Feminism, gender-bendery and emotional irrationality? Are all of Left wing politics only filled with women who only get the job because they are women and not because they're talented? That's what it look likes to any onlooker.
And I must say, Lindsy, your attitude suggests that women only make it anywhere in politics because of the fact that they are woman. I've not seen such assertion of merit based on biology since Himmler and the SS.
And to be honest I find master race theories far more persuasive than master gender theory.
